Love it so far. Went for a couple of hours with my dog. Its middle of the summer but going early at the crack of down helps. Got there at 830 but we were prepare with plenty of water and sunscreen. Bring long socks with shorts or long socks with pants if you can. You will be getting dirty from the trail. We did two trails that break off the main entrance and next time will be back to do another two. It was so cool to see the cows grazing near by. Got lots of video and pictures and my dog enjoyed it even if she couldn't take home any of the rodents with her (dogs must be leashed).
A beautiful place to enjoy a peaceful walk and enjoy nature. Loved seeing different types of wildlife. Trails are easy to walk.
Cloudy day. Perfect weather. Cover up. Add images to inaturlsist to help science. Family loved it. Beware stink bugs and some other crawling critters.
Nice local place with a few big loops and a bunch of small trails off of them. You could end up spending all day. Please note, the gates that are locked are for cars and cattle, the hiking gates are right next to the main gates and you push them open and walk through. Except for a couple that are like a little maze. I note this because someone there kept telling people the gates were locked. The main trials were well kept, the more off beaten trails were a bit overgrown but not bad. Oh and there are bathrooms, you walk a little ways in front he parking lot on the main road/trail. Vault toilets.
Beautiful park with great trails to walk. In January the weather was lovely though much of the foliage was in early stages of regrowth. Animal life consisted of quite a few bird species, the herd of cows that lives in an adjacent pasture, and lots of squirrels - with the exception of a few small reptiles and one surprised bobcat. For people interested in Geocaching, there are several fun finds here too!
