I had an external hard drive with 3TB of data on it that I neglected to back up, and one day it just failed to load up. There's likely no better option if you find yourself in an unfortunate situation with a failed drive. They're a reputable, they know what they're doing, and their process is efficient and precise. I had a USB drive that failed with a lot of important data. Great instructions on sending your failed drive in and very communicative at every step of the process. They recovered everything that I thought I had lost. They're also honest with their pricing and realistic with their timeline. Other companies can and will charge you more, so it's refreshing to see someone doing honest work.

After waiting an entire week without hearing anything, I finally went into the office in person to check on the status. I was told my drive was still "in queue" to be looked at. What's frustrating is that about 45 minutes after I left and got home, I received an email saying they had examined the drive and found a scratch on it, and there was nothing they could do. The timing made it feel like my drive hadn't actually been looked at until I showed up asking questions. Another issue is their policy requiring you to provide a backup hard drive when you first drop off the damaged drive. That doesn't make much sense. Why should a customer have to purchase and provide a backup drive before knowing whether any data can even be recovered? If recovery is successful, customers should at least be given a day or two to bring in a replacement drive. What bothered me most is that there didn't seem to be any effort made to recover any of the data. Their signage advertises that partial recoveries are sometimes possible, yet I was simply told there was a scratch and that was the end of it. No discussion of possible options, no attempt to recover even a portion of the files, and no offer of alternative solutions. I also found communication to be poor. Nobody answers the phone, and every time I visited the office it was very quiet with no customers in the lobby, making the lack of responsiveness even more confusing. Overall, I paid $100, waited a week with no updates, and received little explanation beyond being told there was a scratch on the drive. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this service.
