Merced Urology Medical Group: Cesar Dennis

I have seen Dr. Ceasar in the past and he is a good Dr. Unfortunately the office staff in his new office is completely useless. I had to schedule and order my own labs and scans. After waiting for 2 weeks I went in to see what the hold up was. With an ongoing kidney infection was told "we haven't gotten to it" "but we'll do it tomorrow" BS I called the lab on the spot, they asked for an order # which this front office refused to give, raised a little more hell and got the order #. Did the scan, took my results to a different Dr. for treatment. Again Dr. Is fine if you can get in to see him. You could loose a kidney waiting on the incompetent office staff.

After almost thirty years dealing with issues related to an enlarged prostate and a PAA as high as16 ; I have found a doctor that listened to my epic tale of numerous biopsies, prolonged use of heavy antibiotics, and all that goes along with it. With Merced Urology Group I get to have conversations about my issues with a doctor who listens and understands. Then he gives me an evaluation explaining his reasonings and recommendations; making sure I understand and agree with our journey. Great group #1 in my book.

Dr. Zippe any his nurse made my medical procedure a success. His nurse prepared me for my procedure with great care and reassurance. She answered questions I posed and her responses were comforting. Dr. Zippe executed my procedure with great care and skill. I was quite pleased with the results.

I gave one star not because of the doctor—who was professional and attentive—but because of several issues with the office’s organization. First, it was very difficult to get an appointment by phone, as calls often went unanswered, and my appointment date was mixed up. Second, when I did have an appointment, I arrived 15 minutes early but still waited over two hours in the waiting room to see the doctor. The front desk was not able to manage scheduling or time effectively. Finally, for my follow-up phone appointment, I called and I was told someone would call me back, but I never received a call. Overall, the experience was very disorganized and frustrating.

They called in medications that were extremely incorrect and had the pharmacist hesitant to dispense it more than once. At the same time, they neglected to call in other prescriptions. Their concept of an "appointment" was more like "time you show up to start waiting for a long time" unless you go at 7am. Calling them is an exercise in patience because they don't always answer their phones or return their voicemails. Though the actual doctor seemed okay in the exam room, I am not entirely certain if their issue is the doctor or the staff. What became clear is that Merced Urology is of questionable quality. Ultimately, I lost confidence that this medical practice wouldn't harm me and sought another, safer choice.
