I stopped here because I wanted to try a place that felt like old Los Angeles instead of another modern restaurant. The outside is easy to recognize, and inside it has that classic casual Mexican restaurant atmosphere. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, chile relleno, tacos, and margarita. The chicken enchiladas were probably my favorite because they were exactly what I wanted from this kind of place. The tortillas held together well, the sauce had good flavor, and the whole dish felt comforting. The chile relleno had a nice balance between the pepper and cheese filling, while the tacos were simple but satisfying. The margarita was a good match with the food and made the meal feel more complete. What stood out was the feeling of history. It is not a restaurant trying to follow every new trend. It has its own identity, and that made the visit more enjoyable.
From the valet to the hostess to the wait staff and kitchen; we were met with excellent service. El Coyote made sure we enjoyed our time there. Fun atmosphere. The mariachi band was delightful! A true gem of Los Angeles.
Went there because of a show called The Valley. Cast hangs out there often. I was a little disappointed about the food. Chips were stale, we had to ask for fresh ones, but those were bad too. Had soup and salad, but it wasn't great. Drinks are good, had the peach margarita which was awesome. The whole experience was ok.
It was a little dark especially when you bring two seniors with you to celebrate your father's birthday but besides that it was wonderful it's a perfect date restaurant. It's the perfect place to bring your date nice and secluded and a lot of one-on-one not loud just very very nice.. but just a little too dark but it is a wonderful atmosphere it's a wonderful place it was my first time being there the service was super the food was spectacular. Overall 10 out of 10
I visited El Coyote on the day of its 95th anniversary and was blown away by the friendly staff and the homely and welcoming atmospehere, paired with some great music and singing from the local quartet. A night to remember for the rest of my life. If I ever come back to LA, I will visit again for sure.
