I’ve had a really positive experience working with Esmeralda. She has a thoughtful and thorough approach, and I especially appreciate the way she is preparing me for EMDR. She doesn’t just provide guidance—she also gives me educational materials and case studies that help me better understand the concepts we’re discussing. Having those references has been incredibly helpful when working through complex topics because it gives me something concrete to reflect on and process outside of our sessions. I appreciate that Esmeralda takes the time to explain the "why" behind what she recommends rather than simply telling me what to do. I feel like she genuinely cares about helping me understand myself and the work we’re doing, and I’m grateful for the support and guidance she has provided. I would definitely recommend Esmeralda to anyone looking for a thoughtful, knowledgeable, and compassionate therapist.

My daughter has been seeing Esmeralda for the past three years, and I can't imagine her not seeing her anymore. Esmeralda has become like family to us; her kind and calm demeanor encourages open conversations. She is incredibly smart and insightful, with a remarkable ability to connect with both kids and adults. There isn't a better therapist than her.

Haley has been such an amazing Therapist in helping my grandson Navigate through his trauma. From the very first meeting she made him feel comfortable and even looking forward to his next visit. If you are looking for someone who really values the mental well being of your child I would highly recommend Haley. She is understanding, compassionate and really takes the time to get to know your child and making them feel comfortable in order to put them on a healing path.

The best and most caring team! I was VERY hesitant to start therapy, but Esmeralda has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Kind, attentive, and gives great counter takes when I need it. 10/10 would recommend.

I am grateful for the help and insights that Esmeralda has given me and everyone in my family in the past few years we have visited McDermott. The office staff is always helpful, and the other therapists will occasionally drop a friendly comment as they leave for the day. It is easy to tell that everyone who works here cares about helping families. They do it well.

I have been receiving therapy at McDermott Counseling for a few years now. Every time I walk in, the staff members are always very welcoming and the waiting room has a "home" feel to it. My current therapist, Esmeralda, is awesome! She shows empathy, understanding, offers her best advise, and is never judgmental. She knows her stuff about psychology and is always able to provide a clear explanation to any questions I may have. I highly recommend this therapy site for your therapy needs, they are great and very helpful!
