Golden Gate Rides

I had a great few days in San Francisco thanks to the bike from Golden Gate Rides! I rented a regular bike for two days. Although some of the climbs were steep, it got me everywhere. The service from the guys at the shop was great with lights to cycle at night, a velcro strap so my pants wouldn't get stuck in the wheel and a phoneholder. When I came back in to ask if I could keep the bike a day longer, they even gave me a discount. Go rent your bike here!

Best bike rental experience I’ve ever had. This shop has everything you need and the service is outstanding. They have a great selection of bikes and e-bikes whatever you need they will set you up. Super responsive and helpful as well. 10/10 would rent again.

Solid biking rental experience. Easy to book online with a ton of choices, from mountain bikes to road bikes to a variety of e-bikes, all easy to setup and reserve online for a day or half day or whatever time period. They've got helmets and locks, and off you go pedaling! I had a grand afternoon crossing the Golden gate bridge and using the e-bikes to assist in hill climbs to enjoy the views of the city. Will rent from them again!

This is my 3rd time renting a bicycle from Golden Gate Rides and the service and bicycles are top notch ! I just told the owner Bigyan that riding through beautiful San Francisco and across the Golden Gate Bridge feels like magic on 2 wheels . Thank you for making myself and many others healthier and happier .

Bike and helmet were in great condition and providing water was a nice touch. Bigyan was helpful and very professional. Lots of happy customers coming and going all the time, it seems, so they have a good thing going there!

Be careful with Golden Gate Rides. This is the bike a friend of mine rented for the day so we could ride together. 20 min into the ride, the inner ring completely came loose (see video). Upon inspection, it was missing several screws. This is particularly dangerous for inexperienced riders, but really shouldn't be ridden at all. The owner of the bike shop insisted it was still safe to ride like this. We had to push him to bring a replacement.

We were staying near the Marriott in Union Square and this bike rental place was super convenient, easy to find, and exactly what we needed for a fun San Francisco adventure. The customer service was excellent from start to finish — friendly, patient, helpful, and genuinely caring. They took the time to explain the bikes, routes, safety tips, and made sure we felt comfortable before heading out. The staff had such a positive and welcoming attitude, which made the whole experience even better. They were detail-oriented, organized, and gave great recommendations for exploring the city and biking toward the Golden Gate Bridge. The bikes were in great condition, easy to ride, and the whole rental process was smooth and stress-free. What I appreciated most was that they didn’t make us feel rushed. They answered questions, helped adjust the bikes, and made sure we were set up properly. 1 of the employees even came out on his bike to show us around and It felt like they truly cared about us having a safe and memorable time. This is a great spot for visitors staying around Union Square, especially near the Marriott, who want a fun way to explore San Francisco.
