Joyful Paws Hotel

I was so worried when leaving my cat Kyo but am so grateful that they took such good care of him. The staff is truly so amazing and cares for each pet!! They made my boy feel welcome and gave him the love needed to help him adjust. Mary was especially very kind and reassuring! I watched him from the live feed all throughout his stay and there and was very impressed with the cleanliness and care put into taking care of the cats by the workers. I would definitely book Kyo here again especially as it felt like a home away from home and made me comfortable leaving Kyo in Joyful Paws very capable hands.

We came for two night and needed a place for our sweet little Aussie so we could enjoy universal studios. Mary was so incredibly helpful and we knew after chatting with her our pup would be well loved. Drop off was easy, we had the ability to watch him on the live cam, and see how he was doing. We picked him up and he was so excited to see us but was tired so we knew he was played out. What a relief . I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a place for their pup to go. Best place ever!!

Joyful Paw has been absolutely wonderful for my dog, Zeus. I take him there for daycare while I’m working, and he’s always so excited to arrive — jumping out of the car ready to have the best day. The staff is amazing and truly cares about your pet. They’ve helped Zeus work through some big milestones, and it’s been great to see how much he’s grown and thrived because of their care and attention. I also love the fun events they host and always look forward to Zeus’s report card and photos — it’s such a great touch and really shows how much effort they put into what they do. Thank you to the Joyful Paw staff for everything you do for Zeus and all the other animals. Best team ever!

Joyful Paws has been wonderful. My cats seemed calm when I left them and when I picked them up. The staff is amazing 👏 and listened to my concerns. They provided a comfortable setting for me to choose from. This is my go to place for my cats from now on. Thank you so much ❤️

At first I was nervous about this place because my dog was nervous when I first started dropping her off. However, a year later, she gets so excited to see the staff & go to doggy daycare! She just needed time to adjust, and now I feel completely comfortable leaving my fur baby in their care. They have become part of Daisy's extended family, even recognizing her & saying hi when we run into them out & about Long Beach. When Daisy had an injury (she ran into a stick when I took her to a park), the staff was extra careful & helped re-wrap the bandage during her stay. They are also mindful of her dietary restrictions. My only comment is I wish they had a doorbell, because sometimes there's a bit of a wait by the door, but other than that, I have zero complaints. Joyful Paws is my go-to for my pup daycare needs. Don't hesitate to try them out!

Staff was super friendly and helpful. It was a first for my pup and they made us feel comfortable and secure. Will be using them on a regular basis. Ive been going here for over a year and continue to be impressed with the staff who look after our Ollie! oliver loves the staff and all his friends at Joyful Paws.

Attention pet owners: please consider a different pet hotel before deciding to board your pet here. I truly wish I had done more research before letting my dog stay at Joyful Paws Pet Hotel & Daycare. As mentioned in other reviews, there have been reports of dogs passing away due to negligence, and unfortunately my own experience has made me extremely concerned about the level of care provided. Here are the issues I personally experienced: Some staff were kind, but others clearly should not be working with animals, especially if they are not genuine animal lovers. The lack of compassion from certain employees was noticeable. I provided very simple feeding instructions, with each meal pre‑bagged, labeled by date, and marked for breakfast or dinner. When I picked up my dog, one full meal bag was still there. The manager confirmed that staff made a mistake. This means my dog missed breakfast and likely went 10+ hours without food for her first meal of the day. My dog was panting heavily when I picked her up, and it took about 15 minutes in a fully air‑conditioned car for her to return to normal. It is summer, and some dogs are more prone to heat stress or heat stroke. This could have put my dog’s life at risk, and it made me extremely upset. I later learned, and this is my fault for not researching, that there is no overnight staff. Pets are left completely alone for 10–12 hours outside of business hours. If there were a fire, medical emergency, or any unexpected situation, your pet could end up in the ER… or worse. Please, pet owners: read all the reviews, not just the positive ones. Pay attention to the negative experiences from people who did not feel their pets were safe here. Although the General Manager was apologetic, it does not change the fact that this company needs to do significantly better. Our pets deserve safety, attention, and genuine care.
