El Tepeyac Cafe

I love this place. Im a a la carte guy & this place has it. Superb crunchy tacos, fantastic taquitos, cheesy saucy enchiladas, great chips & dips. Counter/bar seating which I also appreciate. Last but definitely not LEAST, the Manuel burritos. I get the mini o g hollenbeck ... Deeeeeeelicious! I'll always go back to El Tepeyac. Prompt, friendly & exceptional service too!!!

I have not been here in over a decade. I remember coming with my parents as a kid waiting in line to get in to eat and seeing the og manual (RIP) he would always be in a great mood. He was so warming and funny even if he try to offer me a shot as a kid lol.

The same great food they’ve always served. It was great meeting up with Eddie, the same cook that’s been making my Hollenbeck Burrito for the past 30 years.

I came here for the first time and at first everything seemed fine. I ordered a machaca burrito and ate about half of it at the restaurant—no issues, it actually tasted good. Later that day when I got home, I finished the rest and suddenly felt something sharp in my mouth. I immediately took it out and it turned out to be a piece of metal from a scrubber pad inside my food. This is extremely concerning and dangerous. If I had swallowed it, I could have ended up in the ER. Situations like this should never happen. Please advise whoever is responsible for washing and prepping the food to be much more careful, and the cooks need to double-check what they’re serving. Because of this experience, I will not be coming back.

Had a great time here with my friends. It was our first time here and we loved it. The food serves tremendously large portions. They definitely are not skimpy. Our waitress, Maria, was so friendly and helpful with the menu. She was very accommodating to my allergy, as well. Definitely recommend!
