David was spectacular from his knowledge for bicycles. He was upfront and very willing to work with my specifications and budget. I decided not to purchase because i wanted a tow hitch on my 2025 Toyota Camry and i felt without the tow hitch I am missing out on the whole experience. I spoke to Anthony and he was helpful as well. Sorry David i didn’t give you my business. You gave me excellent customer service and this review is the least i could do. Sorry again. Anthony went above and beyond to help me out this past week! I purchased a couple of bikes for my kids (7 and 11) on my own from online. Put them together, and then ran into a couple of issues. While I got the bikes built, there were several areas that needed expertise I simply didn’t have. I brought my bikes in mid day on Thursday, and they were ready same day! I had no appointment. I came in, they wrote up a work order, and I was on my way. Anthony and his team did a safety check of both bikes, and made repairs and adjustments on the break systems in no time. Overall grateful for the service I received. They were professional, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful when I needed it the most! Thanks guys! I’ll definitely be back for any of my bike needs in the future. And I’ll be sure to recommend you to anyone I know who’s in need of some bike support!

Thank you to California Bike and Snowboard for the last minute yes to my bike need. Only had to install a cassette and a derailleur on my gravel bike and 3 other bike shops denied my request but when i got to California Bike and Snowboard, they welcomed me and ask me what i needed and they said YES right away. Thats great customer service! Wasn’t expecting them to finish my bike because of the work load they already had for the day. But my bike was ready by closing time. Thank you to David and his team for getting the job done.

Had such a great experience at California Bike today. I worked with Dave the owner and he helped me dial in my bike and get it ready for a charity bike ride coming up. I’m not terribly experienced with maintaining bikes, so he took quite a bit of time with me explaining my bike. The shop was quite busy but I never felt rushed and very much appreciate the excellent service.

Five stars simply aren't enough for California Bike & Snowboard in Alamo. My wife and I already own an Aventon Abound, so when we purchased her new Aventon Aventure, we almost had it shipped directly to California Bike & Snowboard for professional assembly. Instead, we had it delivered to our home. Looking back, that was our mistake. The bike arrived with shipping damage to the front hydraulic brake, leaving us with a brand-new bike that couldn't be ridden. As new e-bike owners, we didn't know exactly what had happened, so we started looking for an authorized Aventon dealer. That's when we called California Bike & Snowboard. Anthony answered the phone, and within just a couple of minutes he explained exactly what had likely happened, how they would diagnose it, how they would work with Aventon if warranty parts were needed, and what the repair process would look like. His knowledge and confidence immediately put us at ease. Before we even walked through the door, we knew we had found the right shop. When we arrived, the store was busy, but Anthony greeted us, helped unload the bike, created the work order within minutes, reviewed everything with us, and even texted me a copy before we left. They also set realistic expectations about their turnaround time instead of making promises they couldn't keep. That honesty was appreciated. Then came the moment that really set them apart. At **8:36 PM**, more than **two hours after the shop had officially closed**, my phone rang. It was Anthony calling to let me know our bike was finished. He even offered to stay so I could come pick it up that evening. I actually asked him, "Wait...aren't you closed?" His response was, "Yeah...but if you want to come get it, that's okay." That wasn't just excellent customer service—it spoke volumes about the kind of people who work here. I picked the bike up the next morning, and everything was exactly as promised. Every employee we encountered was friendly, professional, and hard-working. It was obvious this is a team that genuinely cares about doing things right. Anthony was the reason we chose California Bike & Snowboard, and the entire team is the reason they'll be our bike shop from now on. They didn't just repair our bike—they earned our trust.
