This land mark offers a unique view that one can only feel when you are on this spot . Be careful do not park in the fire lane which you end up paying huge amount . Parking is not easily available you have to wait for your turn to come . Parking is free , you are only allowed to park here only 15 minutes , if you exceed you have to pay huge amount. Opposite side of the sign you can have very natural view including a water reservoir. Week ends are more crowded . You can find here Juices , fresh fruits and coffee . You can even pay and have your photograph taken by expert photographers.
While it's fun to see the famous sign in person, there is a major issue with trying to park here. Good luck! Plus, one side of the street is unlimited time parking but the opposite side is only 15 minutes, and you better believe they were getting their money out of violations. The large crowds and the concessionaires selling coffee, fruit, and snacks really kill the atmosphere. Plus, there are "influencers" everywhere trying to get the perfect picture. Worth seeing once, but the crows make it a disappointment.
Iconic place in Los Angeles. From the park below, we can take photos of Hollywood sign. We could see the place on our second visit because of lack of parking places. Only roadside parking is available. Though there’s a signboard showing 15 minutes parking, it is not sufficient.
The observatory has awesome views of the LA valley!!! Could see the Hollywood sign at a distance and take photos, but not obvious if I could drive or walk to get close to the sign, guess I'll have to do more research next time. Very crowded for a Friday afternoon 🤪 , but manageable. Free parking on the side of the road after you go through the tunnel as you start up the hill towards the observatory with a bit of a walk, but as you get closer to the observatory they start self pay, maybe the last 30% of the hill. At the top of the hill, not relatively far from the observatory they have self pay parking for $20 per hour. Only reserved or expensive pay parking after the observatory. You could loop back around if you want to check out parking first, then go back and find a parking spot, but may add 20 minutes extra to make the circle back around. I hustled around to all the awesome views around the observatory and a quick trip into the observatory to look around, in 45 minutes, so one hour was sufficient of you don't linger to much. Busy Restrooms by the parking on top of the hill, also restrooms inside the observatory main entrance that didn't look busy at all. Did I say AWESOME views of the valley, and well worth the visit.
Pretty tough hike, but well worth it. It’s difficult to find out where to park and when, but there’s numerous parking options. Each parking option will change the hiking distance, terrain, difficulty. All things considered, some of the most stunning views of LA you can get in one of the best parks ever.
An iconic landmark that lives up to its legend The Hollywood Sign is one of those bucket list sights that genuinely delivers when you see it in person. Whether you spot it from the Griffith Observatory, Lake Hollywood Park or hike up close through Griffith Park, the experience is memorable and the views over Los Angeles are spectacular. The hike to get near the sign is accessible for most fitness levels and well worth the effort for the photo opportunities alone. That said, you can't actually touch or stand directly in front of the letters, the closest viewpoints are still some distance away, which surprises many first time visitors. Parking in the area can be a real headache, especially on weekends. Go early in the morning for the best light, fewer crowds and easier parking. A true LA icon not to be missed.
You can’t visit Los Angeles without seeing the Hollywood Sign! It’s such an iconic landmark. This spot offered a decent view for a photo, though it's definitely a bit of a hike or drive to get the perfect angle. Even on a cloudy day, it feels surreal to see it in person. Pro tip: Arrive early to beat the crowds and the heat!
