Sudhir Agir

One of the best Indian restaurants we tried in LA! The food genuinely feels like home, with delicious flavors and a great selection of dishes. We tried the «Fun for One» thali, and it was excellent—filling, flavorful, and a complete meal with plenty to enjoy. The Punjabi Pie was another highlight and a wonderful way to finish an already amazing dinner. Luckily, we went a little late on a weekday and didn’t have to wait. Great food, great experience, and definitely a place you shouldn’t miss if you’re in LA! Manasa took care of us while we were there and she was an excellent hostess!

My husband found this amazing and authentic Indian fusion restaurant to go and have some dinner. I honestly came in not knowing what to expect but the expectations was superb. The vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant was on point. The playlist was banging . He ordered three different appetizers and they were full of flavor, taste and texture. Everything my husband ordered was delicious. The best part was when I ordered a Spicy Margarita and it was extra good. I highly recommend everyone stopping by who live locally or passing by to get the full experience. You won’t be disappointed with the amazing customer service from the staff and everyone who works here. 10’s across the board.

The service here was amazing, and the owner was so incredibly friendly! They are very vegan friendly and can veganize many of their dishes. She even told me she could make a vegan tikka masala with coconut milk, which I can’t wait to try the next time we visit. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I especially loved the Nirvana. The flavor profile was incredible, and the biryani was also so good! She even surprised us with a complimentary vegan dessert that tasted like an Indian version of tres leches. Such a wonderful experience. I highly, highly recommend this spot!

We were vacationing in the Los Angeles area with our family and staying in Hollywood when we decided to give Roots a try. What a hidden gem! We absolutely loved this place. Veer, our server, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal. The menu is creative, offering unique and delicious options, and every dish we ordered was excellent. If I lived in the area, I would honestly eat here every day. We can’t recommend Roots enough it was absolutely worth the visit!

From the moment we walked in we knew we made the right choice. Great service, thanks to our server Veer! The food was fresh and great portions. The manager checked in on us, which is so appreciated. As a restaurant owner myself, I will definitely recommend this cozy spot, can’t wait to come back!! Bonus points for a delicious cucumber margarita mocktail! We’ll be back.

Exceptional experience at Chubby Cattle BBQ Monterey Park! The quality of the food was outstanding-everything was fresh, premium, and absolutely delicious. What really made our visit memorable was the fast and attentive service. Our server, YC, was amazing! YC was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. My new favorite BBQ spot! Chubby Club hits the perfect sweet spot between premium quality and great value. The ingredients are top-notch, and the staff makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of comfort food that just feeds your soul after a long week. Highly recommend!

We came on a weekday and there was no wait. Alex took great care of us and explained everything since it was our first time. We got the diamond menu , everything was delicious and came out fast. Definitely will be back and take photos next time ! Came back a 2nd time on April 7. Service was a bit slow the first 20 minutes and there was only 2 other tables in the restaurant, but after that the kitchen started sending out food alot faster. Also the salmon nigiri wasn’t as fresh tasting as the first time. So 3.5 / 5 stars the 2nd visit.

Huge shoutout to Kelvin for making our experience so memorable. We will definitely be coming back.

Great experience and vibe at Chubby Cattle MP location. Compare to other locations like Vegas, or Irvine, this location does not offer a self serve bar. However you could still get most of the stuff thru the menu. Overall good and same quality as other locations. Great service as well.

Strange as it may sound, I have been here multiple times and never have I gotten the boba. I have come here after eating at one of the other restaurants in the plaza. They had chocolate pub cake (nice and heavy), mango spongecake (unique and balanced), and strawberry cheesecake (my favorite). My friend who went through a boba fiend phase has gotten the boba and he said he approves. I also noticed a lot of people coming here and playing some arcade style games. It’s worth a visit.

Today I came in with the goal of getting a large catering for over 30 people. 30 double doubles and 30 fries. The staff were so helpful and made sure that my order was prepared and packaged on time. Managers Israel and Pablo were very helpful in asking how I’d like it packaged and making sure that it was ready on time. The cooks Joy and Ramiro did a great job in preparing everything and my team was very happy with their food. Couldn’t be more happy with the service today! Great job and thank you guys!!!!

Everything thing was great except Tamara the cashier. When taking our order didn’t make eye contact with me at all as I was giving my order didn’t even great me. She just greated my boyfriend and I said thank you and she just moved on to the next person in line. That was really rude.

The staff are awesome! This spot is usually always packed especially with the drive thru. I recommend parking by the WSS. It’s always clean and so are their restrooms. Finding a seat is usually not that difficult it’s just a wait. A mako of the time else walk in we wait in line no more than ten minutes and after a few minutes of ordering our food we find a table.

Pretty good. Line wasn’t too long on a Tuesday afternoon. Ordered 4 pup patties with my order, however when I got home, I noticed they weren’t unsalted and they even had some grilled onion on them!! So please if you order pup patties, please make sure to check for onion on them as it’s dangerous for dogs.

They let pet dogs inside and on a separate occasion a few months later my food was burnt, I ate outside that time and a solicitor approached my family while eating. Needs better management. Went to the Bell location last night and the food + service was spot on. The service at this location is not what I expect when eating at In N Out.

Ridiculously long wait time. The parking is terrible but since is a shopping center you can just park away and walk there if you don’t mind. Super long lines inside and out in drive thru. I personally would not recommend if you don’t have at least 20-30 minutes of to wait for your food.

This is our second time here and it’s so good! They’ve got a great variety of food to try. Make sure to ask for recommendations because they all hit the spot. Some of our favorites include the samosa chaat, chicken bhuna, and paneer jalfrazi. The samosa were fresh with a nice medley of chickpea curry, onions and mint chutney. The chicken bhuna was so tasty with the right spices and spice level (we got level 2)! I’ve never had bhuna before but hope to have tit again. As for the sides, the garlic naans are crispy (you can ask for no butter or butter). Pro tip, make sure to get a Thumbs Up soda to top it all off! Always friendly and polite staff and it’s a great neighborhood addition! There’s street parking or paid parking in the back. I saw a lot of people picking up food but I’d stay for the vibe.

AHHH SO GOOOD. Got the butter chicken, tandoori chicken, mango lassi, garlic naan, and gulab jamun dessert. The butter chicken was so savory and great texture 10/10. The naan perfectly made so yummy. Tandoori was great too. They even had us try this dessert. It was warm and sweet. Excellent service and food. Would come again!

The food is very tasty. The staff is attentive, and the atmosphere is pleasant. We ordered the butter chicken and the chicken masala. Even though we asked for the biryani rice to be mild, it still came spicy. So, keep in mind that this is a spicy dish, even in its mildest version. There were three of us dining – food and drinks included – and the bill came to around $100. It’s worth mentioning that they have great combo options! I didn’t order one this time, but I definitely will next time. Besides other sides, the combos also include an appetizer and dessert.

Quite pricey and flavor wasn’t it. I asked for medium and said I like eating spicy, I just don’t want to be in pain, but it ended up being way too mild. I asked for spice to be added, and they added in little chunks of peppers which helped a little, but the depth of flavors was just not there. It added the sting of spice without adding that much flavor (to be fair, it’s probably because they didn’t cook it to be spicy from the beginning and I should’ve asked for spicy instead of medium – but seriously, I’ve had «mild» with more kick and flavor than this place’s «medium»). Overall it was not terrible but just very underwhelming, especially considering the higher price and the high rating. There are plenty of better tasting Indian options for less money

My fiancée and I enjoyed our meal at this beautiful, quaint restaurant. We walked from the urban lights and were excited to see this place was still open late. We ordered their vegetarian dinner for 2 which came with 2 pieces of samosas, choice of 2 vegetarian entrees, rice, naan, raita, choice of any 2 soft drinks, & choice of dessert all for $65.95. Were delightfully satisfied. The flavors are definitely on point. Spices are definitely there. We will definitely be back!

My fiance and I’s first time here. Honestly very good food. I love the variety here of noodle soup, hot pot, and desserts. We were not expecting it at all when visiting a store nearby. Definitely will come back again!

This place is packed. The line for dinner is long but the wait is worth it. The food choices are varied and the price already includes the drinks ( soda, hot tea, bubble tea). They have a Ramen Station and one can also order their Hot Pot. One can also try their grill station.

Had a wonderful dining experience at Umi Buffet! The seafood was fresh and delicious, especially the snow crab legs and the hot pot. There was a great variety of food, everything was well-stocked, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. The biggest surprise was the free lobster—such an awesome bonus and it tasted amazing! The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely one of the best buffet experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend Umi Buffet if you’re looking for fresh seafood, great value, and excellent service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Umi is a chain and there are locations in many states. I’m from the east coast and in MD, there are 2 Umi locations that are within 30-40 minutes. Each one has their own differences. I felt like this one had many more hot pot options but less quality seafood options. The sushi was extensive! The staff was friendly but kind of rushed us along. Bringing the check even before I asked. I had a senior who was slow at eating and a physically disabled person that was dining with me. They were not eating a lot of food, but were just slow. There is a 12% service fee included but it is clear that there is no tip expected after that service charge.

I only stopped by for a quick takeout order, but I have to say the service was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, even though I was just picking up food to go. Absolutely blown away by this place. We ordered the shrimp chaat, samosa, rack of lamb, and goat curry — and every single dish felt so special. Usually with Indian food, you kind of have an idea of what flavors to expect before the food even comes out. But this restaurant surprised me in the best way possible. The flavors were incredibly unique, bold, and layered in a way that felt much more authentic and exciting than the typical Indian restaurants around here. It honestly felt like the kind of food you’d discover at a vibrant street market in India. The shrimp chaat was packed with flavor and texture, the samosas were perfectly crispy, the rack of lamb was tender and beautifully seasoned, and the goat curry was rich, comforting, and unforgettable. On top of the amazing food, the restaurant was very clean, the atmosphere felt welcoming, and everyone was genuinely kind and attentive. You can tell there’s real passion behind the food here. Definitely one of the most memorable Indian food experiences I’ve had in a long time. ✨

Chris was our server today and did great. Quick to take our orders, check on us, and was extremely friendly. The food did take awhile to come out but it was really good! Fantastic and attentive service from Chris and another server, quality food, flavorful, fresh, and delicious! Great location! We will always come back here when we come to town. One opportunity, the medium-rare rib-eye steak (and eggs) my husband requested was definitely «well done». We should have spoke up at the time but we don’t like the create issues and it still had good flavor. A little disappointing but overall, great experience!

Strongly recommend Aromas!! Found while searching for a breakfast spot in Fresno and I hit the jackpot. The place is very nice, lots of space, good music, not to loud, tvs, and most important great service with friendly people. Miriam was awesome, I asked her what was popular on the menu and she recommended the Chile Verde Omelette. It did not disappoint!! Large portion, meat was flavorful and tender and the Verde sauce was not over powering. Had lots of cheese and potatoes just the way I like them…crunchy!! I should say, the Ice Cold brew hit the spot as well. I will definitley be back!! Thank you Miriam!!

I don’t know how this place has such good rating but I DO NOT recommend this to anyone! Maybe we went there the worst day but it was a really scary experience for me and my friends! We went there on Sunday for brunch, we ordered and then they didn’t brought our food for almost an hour after, and then our server came and she explained that they messed up the orders so they forgot our order and they will make it asap and etc. I think we waited another half an hour and then they started bringing the food but also bringing everything took them around 20 minutes and even with all that they forgot to bring some of the sides we ordered and by that time we were so exhausted that we didn’t even ask for it! But I haven’t told you the worst part yet! Right when we started eating there was this fight going on right next to the restaurant and we thought maybe some people are fighting outside! But apparently that was one of the customers that was getting beaten by someone from the restaurant!!! Our server told us that this guy was drunk and he has been rude to the restaurant’s manager so they kicked him out and yet he was there so they were beating him that he leaves! But the problem was we didn’t even see anything till we saw they’re beating him and other customers were trying to help him and what we would see was just some of the personnel in the restaurant were cursing him and beating him. We asked if someone called the police and our server said they did but it was definitely a lie because we were there for another 20 minutes but we didn’t see the police showing up! I wish we just had called the police! I would never go to a restaurant that not only they can’t guarantee your safety but also they might beat you up for no reason! The food is not even worth it! It was such a crazy situation but our server was so sweet and she was trying to calm everyone down and definitely she was under so much pressure too. She also removed the drinks from the check and we only paid for the food.

Really enjoyed the burger here! Personally, I found In-N-Out burgers easier to eat than many other burger chains. The flavor is well balanced, with just the right amount of richness without feeling too heavy or greasy. This location is extremely busy, especially because it’s so close to LAX, but the service was surprisingly fast and efficient despite the crowd. One of the best things about this location is the outdoor seating. It’s open and comfortable, and you can actually watch planes taking off and landing while enjoying your meal — a pretty cool experience, especially if you like airplanes. Good food, fast service, and a fun location near the airport. Definitely worth a stop!

Came here to try out the legendary Inn&Out location for the very first time. You must visit this place if you loved some good burgers & some planespotting. I hoghly recommend getting there between 11-2pm as thats when you can see a lot of widebody planes landing at LAX and are spottable outside this Inn&out. The burgers are absolutely delicious and one of the juiciest I ever had and the animal fries are something that are quite unique. Pricing wise its very cheap compared to many other fast foods in California.

The most iconic In-N-Out. Great location with great views. Definitely a place for aviation enthusiasts that love to plane spot. Other than that, the food was great and didn’t have to wait a really long time. The line moves fast and they are extremely busy all day so be patient. The staff are great here.

This might be the best burger I’ve ever had the burger with juicy and it was so perfect. I ordered the double double animal style with a side of fries. All the ingredients were fresh including the fries. I got them extra well done which they came out super crispy. You need to get extra chilies on the side and their spread, It definitely levels up the entire meal. Sad that this burger place isn’t anywhere where we live, and definitely we’ll be dreaming about this. plenty of seats, indoor and outdoor dining and staff was super friendly and welcoming.

Second time having In-N-Out, and this location right next to LAX has officially stolen my heart. The Vegas spot was great, but there’s something electric about watching planes take off while biting into a perfectly crisp Double-Double. Despite the line being out the door (which says a lot!), the staff moved everyone through with impressive speed and smiles. The food hit the spot—hot, fresh, and totally worth the wait. If you’re flying into LA, skip the terminal food and walk over here. It’s an experience, not just a meal.»

Whenever I’m near LAX, I always make a stop at this In-N-Out. The burgers are exactly what you’d expect—fresh, hot, and made to order. The fries are great when they’re fresh, and the staff always keeps the line moving despite how busy it gets! One of the best parts about this location is the parking lot right next to it. It’s an incredible spot for plane spotting! You get amazing up-close views of aircraft on final approach into LAX, making it the perfect place to enjoy your burger while watching everything from Southwest and United jets to international wide-body aircraft like the A380. If you’re an aviation enthusiast, this location is definitely worth the stop.

Watching the plane landing, In n Out Burger that was bustling with people. However, ordering was efficient; the wait wasn’t long. I ordered the Animal Style burger and Fires and Vanilla Shake from the special menu. The location is very convenient and there’s plenty of parking. There might be a wait during peak hours.

Stopped for some refreshments on my trip to Fresno CA, it was 90° out! Beverages were good, service was very helpful. Not being familiar with this place because we don’t have one in Santa Cruz county, the employee made some great suggestions!

I just stopped by this morning 07/26 and was helped by the young lady at the window through the drive thru. I come pretty often and had not seen her before, I am sure I’d remember such a sucky attitude if I had. From when I got to the window she was already upset for who knows what. I told her I’d pay with tap but ended up just doing cash. I said «sorry I will do cash actually» and she threw the tap machine down and rolled her eyes and grabbed my 20$. I was like okay, just let it go, maybe she’s just having a morning, it’s 8am. But then, as she’s handing me the drinks they are both pink so I asked which is the one she was handing me , she replies «read the lid» and walked away after giving me the drinks. I stayed until she came back to the window to tell her to have a great day. I also realized she did not give me the two pastries I ordered, so I have to go back. I’ve been coming to this Dutch Bros for a while now, and I’ve never been talked to or treated so rudely. I felt like a burden. At the end of the day, customers are the reason businesses stay open. If someone is having a bad day, that’s understandable, but it shouldn’t be taken out on the people choosing to spend their money there.

I wouldn’t go back to this location. My sugar free blended rebel had several plastic pieces in it. I tried to call the store and got redirected to a customer service 1-800 phone number. They have essentially tried to tell me that, I should’ve «tested it at the window» and wave my concerns aside with a free drink rewards loaded into my account. That drink could’ve easily been for a coworker, but it happened to be mine out of the three drinks I ordered that morning. People ordering blended beverages for other people, especially children, please be careful.

The line is crazy long almost all the time at the McKinley and blackstone . if you want to cut the long wait and save some gas , I definitely recommend parking and go up to the window to order a lot faster . I personally think there over rated, and their drinks are not as good as I expected it to be but everyone’s taste buds are different. But it’s cool just to try them if you haven’t already. As for me it was first and last time my first order but I do take my daughter to get herself a drink often. I try to talk her out of it and rather spend my money at a Starbucks. Speaking of there is going to be a new one opening in the Westside of Fresno next to the city college we can’t wait for the grand opening.

The employees are so thoughtful and professional, even when the customers are irritable about something not at all connected to their coffee service. Love the flavors. Wish the giveaways didn’t begin so early. I’ve gone to the one on McKinley and Blackstone since it opened and I’m still going!!

I’ve been here before, during the day, my husband is a loyal Dutch Bro Coffee fan. Well today my husband and I wanted a little scape and went out for a quick late trip in the middle of the night. We wanted a yummy Caramelizer but to our shock we received a different drink and it wasn’t blended as we had requested it. It was too late for a a Uturn so we just kept our drinks. I was a bit disappointed because we had to wait in a long time in the drive-thru line. Luckily We have a ninja smoothie blender at home. We had a good laugh about it but hopefully next time they make it right.

So disappointed! Paid over $9 for tan milk. This is supposed to be a matcha, picture is of the remake. Both made exactly the same, both let downs. Service also sucked- wasn’t greeted with normal energy, avoided when I came up to the walk up window for the remake, lacking the usual Dutch atmosphere. Not coming back to this location.

Frequently asked questions about restaurants in California

What factors influence restaurant prices in California?

Restaurant prices in California are influenced by a multitude of factors. Primarily, the high cost of labor – wages and benefits – significantly contribute to the overall expense. The cost of ingredients, particularly fresh produce and seafood, is also considerably higher than in many other states, reflecting California’s agricultural landscape and proximity to major markets. Rent, especially in desirable urban areas like San Francisco and Los Angeles, represents a substantial portion of operating costs. Finally, taxes, including sales tax and local business taxes, add to the final price. These combined elements create a generally more expensive dining environment compared to other regions.

How do restaurant menus reflect California’s culinary diversity?

California’s restaurant menus are a direct reflection of its diverse culinary landscape. The state’s history as a hub for immigration has resulted in a huge variety of cuisines, from traditional Mexican and Chinese to Italian, Japanese, and a growing number of Southeast Asian options. Farm-to-table movements have further shaped menus, emphasizing locally sourced ingredients and seasonal dishes, particularly featuring California’s abundant produce. You’ll find influences from around the globe, creating an exceptionally rich and varied dining experience.

What are the regulations surrounding food safety and health inspections in California restaurants?

California has some of the most stringent food safety regulations in the United States. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) oversees all restaurants, requiring regular health inspections to ensure compliance with state and local regulations. These inspections cover various aspects, including food handling practices, sanitation standards, temperature control, and employee training. Restaurants must maintain documentation and records related to food safety and undergo periodic audits to maintain their permits. Failure to comply can result in fines or closure.

How do tipping customs vary across different California cities?

Tipping customs in California can vary significantly depending on the city and the type of restaurant. Generally, a 15-20% tip is standard for good service in casual dining establishments. However, in upscale restaurants, especially those with a service charge already included, tipping might be less generous, typically around 10-15%. In tourist destinations like San Diego and Santa Barbara, tipping may be slightly higher due to the increased demand for service. It’s always a good practice to check the menu for service charge information before ordering.

What are some popular Californian culinary traditions?

Several culinary traditions have emerged in California, largely influenced by its agricultural bounty and diverse population. California cuisine emphasizes fresh, seasonal ingredients and often incorporates elements from various cultures. Farm-to-table dining is a significant trend, with restaurants prioritizing locally sourced produce and meats. Tacos, particularly those featuring fresh ingredients and innovative fillings, are a cornerstone of Californian food culture. Wine country dining experiences, centered around California’s renowned vineyards, are also a celebrated tradition.

How do outdoor dining options impact the restaurant scene in California?

Outdoor dining has become increasingly popular in California, particularly in urban areas and coastal cities. Many restaurants have expanded their seating to include patios, terraces, and even street-side seating. This trend has been fueled by favorable weather, a desire for social experiences, and regulations that encourage outdoor dining. The increased demand for outdoor spaces has led to longer wait times and a greater emphasis on creating comfortable and attractive outdoor environments.

What types of vegetarian and vegan options are commonly found in California restaurants?

California boasts an impressive range of vegetarian and vegan options, reflecting the state’s progressive attitudes and growing demand for plant-based meals. Many restaurants offer vegan versions of classic dishes, such as burgers, pasta, and pizzas. Farm-to-table restaurants frequently feature seasonal vegetable dishes and creative vegan entrees. Dedicated vegan restaurants provide a wide selection of plant-based meals, and even non-vegan restaurants increasingly offer plant-based alternatives to satisfy the growing number of customers.

How does the seasonality of ingredients affect restaurant menus in California?

The seasonality of ingredients plays a crucial role in shaping California restaurant menus. California’s climate allows for a long growing season, providing access to a wide variety of fresh produce year-round. However, restaurants often highlight ingredients that are at their peak flavor during specific seasons, such as stone fruits in the summer or root vegetables in the winter. This seasonal focus creates a constantly evolving menu, emphasizing the best quality ingredients available at any given time.

What are some unique California restaurant experiences?

California offers a variety of unique restaurant experiences beyond the typical dining experience. Wine country tours and tasting rooms provide opportunities to sample California wines alongside farm-fresh meals. Pop-up restaurants offer limited-time menus and creative culinary concepts. Food trucks provide a casual and diverse dining option, while chef-driven tasting menus offer an immersive culinary journey.

How do reservation systems and online ordering impact the dining experience in California?

Reservation systems and online ordering platforms have fundamentally changed the dining experience in California. Many popular restaurants now require advance reservations, particularly during peak hours. Online ordering allows customers to pre-order meals for takeout or delivery, streamlining the process and reducing wait times. Mobile apps and digital menus enhance the customer experience, providing real-time updates and personalized recommendations.
