We had an excellent experience at Little Kitchen Academy from drop-off to pick-up. Since parents aren’t in the session, I can't personally speak to everything that happens during class, but based on what my daughter shared, she had an amazing time. She told me she learned what it’s like to run a kitchen from A to Z, which was both fun and educational. When I picked her up, she was all smiles and couldn’t wait to tell me about everything she had learned. The staff was professional, friendly, and did an incredible job working with the kids. It was clear they created a positive, engaging, and supportive environment. We are so excited for her next class and look forward to seeing her continue to learn and grow at Little Kitchen Academy!
My seven year old was super excited to do the summer camp here. It was theoretically about "cooking experiments." Unfortunately there was no experimenting (even the fun baking soda/vinegar one). The experiment camp is not different in any meaningful way from the other classes and camps they offer as far as I can tell. The thing that did not work for us about this camp is that they only had the kids cook foods that few kids would actually enjoy. They made: egg, herb, and vegetable frittatas, lentil tabbouleh, herb and vegetable popovers, and a dark chocolate cheesecake. I am crushed that my son was so crushed by this experience. Every day he went to camp saying, "Maybe we will make something tasty today!" and every day it was a disappointment. I loved the dishes he brought home of course, but... why have kids cook these things? I love the idea of this place but I wish they made kids self-sufficient at cooking their own favorite foods. Why not teach them to make... Cereal? Crackers? Pizza? Macaroni and cheese? Cesar salad? Ranch dressing? Yellow cupcakes? Chocolate chip cookies? Some kind of special spice for popcorn? Doughnuts? Making dough is fun! Making pasta is fun! Making crackers is fun! Making spiced nuts would be fun too. Making peanut butter would be fun... Sigh. Anyway, I just wish there was a "adventurous kid" class option and a "kid food" class option.
This has to be one of my favorite things to take my son to and his friends. It has been such an amazing experience for them. The confidence he has gained in the kitchen, to cook with me, has been so much fun to see. He is only 5 and he is cracking eggs like a pro. I highly recommend checking this place out to give your kids a great opportunity to learn a new skill and join you in the kitchen at home!
My 4 yr old daughter confidently said bye to me at the door as I handed her off to get her chef coat on. From time to time, I passed by the glass window to find her happy and following instructions. She was looking forward to the LKA experience for weeks, and loved every second of it! We look forward to booking another class for her!
Little Kitchen Academy is fantastic. The instructors are great, he hit safety points in the kitchen to keep little ones safe. The space is beautiful, and kids leave proud of what they make. A must-try for young chefs!
