Went around noon and most of the croissants were already sold out. Noticed people picking up preordered goods, so that seems like the way to go. We ordered 3 croissants and they were gorgeous to look at and tasted pretty good. As expected, they had a crispy, flaky, crunchy outer shell and soft and tender with multiple layers inside. Presentation is very nice and pleasing. Price ranged from $10 to $17 per croissant. We ordered 3 and it came out to $44. The carnitas croissant was a bit of a disappointment due to the sparse amount of protein inside. It was a nice snack and not by any means a meal. To me it was overpriced for what it was. Nice to try once I guess to see what the fuss is all about. Tables were rather small and cramped. Overall feel of the place was nice and airy. We parked near the I5 overpass and it was a bit shady and smelly, a couple of homeless people camped out there.

If I could give more stars I would this place was so good. Drove from Riverside to San Diego on a Sunday morning just to try their bread, pastries and coffee. Took so much home for the family. Everything we tried was so delicious 😋 if you have a sweet tooth must try the s’mores croissant and have it there they torch the homemade marshmallow in front of you 😋😻. Savory the carnitas croissant 🥐 and we bought the garlic bread, olive whole grain and cranberry pecan all amazing. Must try iced latte coconut. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality the staff is great.

Genuinely the best croissants I’ve ever had. Every time I come here I get the almond croissant and an iced coconut cream latte. Today was very busy due to a holiday and padres game, so they were out of the almond. I was heartbroken. However, the sweet staff, Daisy and Angel, made sure I got my almond croissant. Truly the best staff who always make me feel welcome and appreciated. I hope they know how much I appreciate them back. Thank you thank you thank you IZOLA

There is absolutely a reason IZOLA was named the best bakery in America and it’s because the croissants 🥐 and sourdough do all the talking. I have had my fair share of croissants and I don’t know if I ever have had such a unique and divine experience as eating that bibimbap croissant. The house made sauce they decorate with is exquisite and I wish I could buy a jar and take it home with me. Truly an incredible experience with friendly staff, phenomenal food and immaculate vibes. Loved the sourdough sampler and a must if you want to try their new creations. You can overdose on carbs at this establishment and you should cause why not go out happy.

I am no expert, but the baked goods at Izola are truly on another level. The only things I can even compare them to are the bakeries I visited in Europe a couple of years ago. We tried the chocolate croissant, the almond croissant, and the bibimbap croissant. I never would have imagined that savory and spicy flavors could pair so perfectly with a flaky croissant, but it works brilliantly. I have always been a huge fan of almond croissants in general, and Izola version is just as incredible as their savory creation. Even though we were completely full after finishing the croissants, we still could not resist picking up the Lao Gan Ma sourdough. Just as all the other reviews mentioned, it is absolutely fantastic. Walking in for the first time gave me that same special feeling I had decades ago when I first visited the original Extraordinary Desserts. It is that rare kind of place that takes something simple and elevates it into something extraordinary. It is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality makes it well worth every single penny. I cannot recommend Izola enough!

I remember when this place was in a two or three story building and it was on the second floor. It was then, but visiting after being away 3 years in the new location was an interesting experience. They had a wonderful musician covering Jack Johnson there, and the vibe was great! But, the real reason you go is for the French delicacies. Wow! It's still really good and yummy! I had the regular and almond croissants, and a wonderful hot chocolate. Bring yourself and your family, your date, or come by yourself and enjoy the food, the vibe, and nice music! You won't be disappointed! Be sure to show up early due to how popular this place is. And, parking is ok because it's downtown, but you should be able to find parking not to far away.

Absolutely worth the hype. The best croissants I have ever had, even better than in Paris. We got the veggie bibimbap, poached wine pear, and brown butter caramel knot. Even though our order was to go, everything was warm and crispy when we sat down to eat. There was a line outside by the time I arrived around 11 AM, but it moved quickly and the cashiers knew which items would be restocked versus which ones were out for the day. Strongly recommend pre-ordering, even on a weekday

Very nice bakery. Not having the most fancy look with outdoor seating. Borsch was very good, in a relatively large bowl, with two slices of bread. Could be enough for breakfast by themselves. Poppy seed roll was sweet. One of us felt something different after and the other did not.

This is a cute little bakery with Russian fare. Ordered the Piroshkis – cabbage eggs and green onion eggs. The bread was cloud like and extremely nice. Also got the mushroom blinkchiki which was warm, and comforting stuffing. The stuffing tasted good despite not much spices, however their portion size was small for that price. To satiate the sweet tooth, ordered the almond coffee cake , which looked really nice and tasted ok. Highly recommend getting a spot as they have limited seating

Chicken Pelmeni (4/5): large portion, 20 dumplings, with optional broth add on. Easily shared among two or more people. Good flavor, would be nice if the stuffing had something in addition to chicken. They have another meat Pelmeni (pork and beef) combo and two vareniki options – potato and cherry. It would be nice if you could get a half serving and try more than one type. Blinchiki (5/5): nice soft crepes with mushroom and potato filling wrapped up into rolls with a sour cream dip

During my visit to San Francisco park I wanted a homely and satisfying meal to cap off the trip. Cinderella achieved both of those with flying colors. I got the pelmeni soup and it sent me back in time. It tasted of home in a bowl with a nice smell of fresh bread. To top it off water is complementary. I wish I lived in San Francisco just to have it again. A go to spot if you're passing through like I was.

Cinderella Bakery & Cafe is an absolute gem if you appreciate simple, well-made comfort food done right. What stood out to me the most was their bread and beef stroganoff. The bread is incredible—fresh, soft on the inside with a perfect crust on the outside. You can really taste the quality, and it feels like something made with care, not mass-produced. It’s the kind of bread you keep thinking about even after you leave. The beef stroganoff was just as impressive. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor, with tender pieces of beef and a perfectly balanced sauce that isn’t too heavy. It tasted authentic and comforting, like a true homemade dish. If you go here, don’t skip the bread—and definitely try the beef stroganoff. It’s simple food, but done exceptionally well.

Amazing store for Russian Food. We ordered the borscht, pelmeni, olivye, and medovik. It did take a bit for our main dishes to come out but its a family run restaurant so i was a-ok waiting. We had a tub of olivye and slice of medovik to snack on anyways so all good. The olivye was quite salty but i do tend to like my food quite salty so it was very tasty to me. The medovik or honey cake was the highlight of the meal, not too sweet, super soft and filled with pieces of what seem to be walnuts and sour cream frosting that had a great tang (what i think is often missing from american cream cheese frosting) the borscht was earthy and comforting and also vegetarian just fyi. the pelmeni tasted nicely rich from the meat and even better when dunked into the sour cream

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bee’s Bakery Cafe is hands down one of the best breakfast spots around! I ordered the Sweet Heat Breakfast Burrito, and it was absolutely incredible. It was packed with fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and had just the right amount of kick. The homemade salsa paired perfectly with it and took the flavor to another level. I also tried the steak, eggs, biscuit, and potatoes, and everything was cooked to perfection. The steak was tender and flavorful, the eggs were spot on, the biscuit was fresh and buttery, and the potatoes were crispy and delicious. The service was friendly, fast, and welcoming, and the atmosphere made you feel right at home. It’s clear they take pride in serving high-quality food and providing excellent customer service. If you’re looking for an outstanding breakfast with generous portions and amazing flavor, Bee’s Bakery Cafe is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

I love coming to Bee’s on Sunday mornings for a delicious baked good and cappuccino. Every pastry I’ve had thus far has been delicious and I believe homemade, and if it’s not homemade, it definitely tastes locally made. Today I got the cinnamon roll. The sugar to cinnamon ratio was just right. Last week I bought the chocolate almond croissant. They used premium chocolate from what I could taste. The coffee is great quality as well. This place gets busy, so bring your patience, but the quality is worth it. I’m affording some grace on service, because the staff hustles, and it’s a symptom of how popular and busy this place gets. Don’t let that deter you from coming! This place is also very family friendly. I love being able people watch. You’ll experience a diverse range of people enjoying themselves and their friends and family. I appreciate it being kid and family friendly. Lastly, thank you for switching to fresh squeezed orange juice! 🍊

This is THE place to go in Oakhurst for breakfast! The decor inside is super cute and unique with nostalgia. The ordering was quick, but if you are in a rush maybe go to Denny's because you will wait a bit for your meal. However when you get your grub it will be HOT and delicious! We ate there everyday for breakfast and tried 4 or 5 different items over a 4 day period and every single thing was made fresh and was SO good.

This has become our favorite weekend breakfast spot. It's great for locals and tourists alike, with a varied menu and lots of different types of seating. The outdoor patio is great for temperate and warm weather, and it's dog-friendly. Inside, there are lots of different tables as well as a couch seating area. The food is consistently good, and their baked goods are great (especially the danishes!). I don't hesitate recommending this place to anyone.

Lovely atmosphere! Sourdough pancake is awesome – one of the best I've had! We also had their breakfast sandwiches and shared them- they were good too. The blueberry pomegranate smoothie was yummy and refreshing. Would definitely go back! We didnt get to try the cinnamon roll because its only available on Sundays.

Best focaccia I’ve ever had. I make it a pilgrimage when I visit the city to get my bread there. Get there early or wait in a line potentially. I buy 5 loaves when I go. Eat one during the day and freeze the rest. $10 each as of 8/2026. Expensive but worth it. Rosemary/Garlic is the win.

First time here. Ordered the pizza focaccia and the rosemary garlic focaccia. You can taste the aroma of the tomato sauce and the light texture of the bread. The sauce didn't make the bread soggy as I was thinking it would. The garlic/rosemary was my favorite of the two. For you garlic and rosemary lover, this is the one you must try. Fresh garlic taste with the awesome smell of the rosemary. This would go great with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. You need to go early before they get sold-out. I will be back for other selections.

Went here on a Wednesday morning 20 minutes after opening. Wasn't busy and no lines. Parking wasn't too difficult to find. Loved the old school, no-frill vibes of the shop. They sold merchandise, olive oil, cans of tomato sauce, their own dough on the counter. I ordered a pizza focaccia and for the size you get it's absolutely worth it. The dough itself is very soft, fluffy and bready while the ingredients didn't exactly have a pizza flavor, but it was still delicious. I lightly toasted it a few days afterwards and I loved how it came out. Overall, a staple in the neighborhood for a reason. Homemade goodness. Good customer service. Highly recommend going.

Love the variety of foccacia flavours. Decided to go with their popular pizza flavour. The foccacia was soft, pillowy with a nice chewy texture to it. The staff offered to cut it into slices so that we could eat it on the go. It was delicious but unfortunately cold so I didn't enjoy it as much as I had expected to. Wished that it was served hot.

Absolutely the BEST chicken pot pie we’ve ever had — and incredible customer service! We stopped at California Mountain Bakery in Julian on our way through and what a fantastic find! The chicken pot pie was outstanding — hands down the best we’ve ever tasted. The crust was perfectly flaky, the filling was rich, creamy, and packed with tender chicken and fresh vegetables. Every bite was pure comfort food heaven. We could tell it was made with real care and quality ingredients. But what really made our visit special was the kindness of one of the team members. When our car started having issues in the parking lot, one do the employee went way out of his way to help us. He offered tools, gave us advice, and even stayed with us until we got things sorted. His genuine willingness to help turned what could have been a stressful situation into a much better experience. The bakery itself is charming, with beautiful mountain views and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be making this a regular stop whenever we’re in the Julian area. If you’re looking for amazing baked goods (especially that legendary chicken pot pie!) and friendly, caring service, this is the place.

I previously had left a review on their Pie which was excellent I went there for Lunch today and wanted to try one of their Deli Sandwiches. I had a Ham and Turkey combo on Sourdough Bread….Their Sandwiches come with your choice of a bag of Chips. That Sandwich was so good and let me tell you, that was the best Bread I have ever tasted. Normally I toast my Sourdough, but I'm glad this one wasn't toasted because that Bread was so soft and fresh… It was a good size too, I was only able to eat half. The staff is so nice they definitely know what they 're doing there.

alright I'm LITERALLY being really legitimate when I give this place five stars on everything… we came in recently for our very first time, and all the people working there were absolutely incredible!! we immediately got in, seats in the 2nd room were extremely fancy and we got to pick our own seats. now let me tell you, I’m a really flipping picky eater. if something’s not made a certain way, I can’t eat it. (and no, I’m not secretly your picky child in disguise..) first, our roasted potatoes came out with onions, and the kind lady took it back with fresh ones, really flavorful honestly, better potatoes than red apple cafe and branch (still luv them though!) then my French toast came out (DEFINITELY recommend btw!) and it looked and tasted delish!!! yum!! I recommend this place if you want a large, good breakfast, or just pastries are just as delicious!! customer service is amazing because I got iced tea and they accidentally got out sweet tea, which I really didn’t mind, and there was a nice guy who brought out another!! the atmosphere is really nice too, really warm-feeling and elegant in the other dining room. the dining room closest to the front door is nice for getting small pastries and small studies.

A lovely way to spend our afternoon!!! The flavors were so great! Loved the housemade vinaigrette on the salad! The desserts were out of this world, and I believe his name was "Mor." Amazing service, full of jokes, and it really elevated our visit :). 10/10 recommend and will be back!

I recently visited this venue and I was so happy I did. The service was very accommodating for my reservation and also for my service. The interior was awesome with a great vibe and the food was absolutely delicious. I visited on Mother’s Day for a special menu and hours, but I saw some breakfast plates that came out that looked amazing. I’d certainly recommend visiting this venue if you want a solid breakfast or lunch experience. Well worth it.

Such a cute little hidden gem in Fresno! I came here on Tuesday with my dad and loved it so much that I came back the very next day to bring my boyfriend. They both ended up loving it as much as I did. I looove their salad dressing and the La Crepe Poulet Provencal had a really herb-y and fragrant chicken and eggplant which made it taste so unique and delish!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming both times we came. One thing I really appreciated was seeing the managers out on the floor helping serve customers instead of just staying behind the scenes. It made the whole place feel really warm and personal. I’m already looking forward to bringing more of my friends and family here. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven’t been yet!

Wonderful food, I had the Provencal chicken crepe which was delicious . Between our party we had a wide range of food all of which looked amazing and everyone left satisfied. Went here for a business lunch, no issues for walk in with a somewhat large party (six). Staff were accommodating on splitting checks but maybe dont push it, they did have a written policy limiting check splitting to two checks for parties 6+. Service was a little slow. Might have been due to Valentines being the next day but I would not recommend if in a hurry based on my experience. Overall great experience, hope one day they offer dinner as an option!

This place is amazing!!!! My friends and I were driving back to the river and we saw this place while we were at a stop light. I remember coming for the first time a few years ago and loved the food so I wanted to take my friends. We went and the food, environment and especially the customer service was fantastic! My friend got the butter chicken after we were offered a sample. My other friend and I ordered tri tip sandwiches. While we were eating the cook gave us a pot pie for free to try! Everything was delicious and hearing the cook talk so passionately about the food made the whole experience so much better. It is a great place to visit when you want to try amazing food and escape from the city and the chaos of life. My friends and I all agreed that we definitely will be back.

This is my 2nd time visiting this place and its 5 stars. The costumer services is very friendly and prompt. Let's talk about that curry butter chicken. The curry butter chicken is on point with the naan bread placing it over the top. This is the best Indian food I have ever had. This time around I also had the samosas which were delicious. I felt they needed to be a little heavier on the spices but they were still delicious. Its my 1st time getting a pie and my hopes are high. The butter chicken is worth the drive. I love this place!

I visited Clements Ridge Produce and Bakery over the weekend with a group of friends. We tried the curries there and bought a couple of pies back to our campsite. The curries are so delicious and the pies are excellent. I like the store layout with the outdoor dining area available. The workers are super friendly too.

Great place! My wife and I stopped here yesterday on our way home from Lake Tahoe and are we glad we did. The guy at the front offered us a free bottle of water and the cook gave us free samples of mango yogurt and butter chicken. We ordered the butter chicken and a pot pie and both were absolutely delicious. A little pricey but worth it. Definitely stopping here again on the next trip to Tahoe.

I finally stopped here on my way home from the casino so my husband can get a Tri tip sandwich. We tried a sample of the buttered chicken and that was soooo delicious. I also had a samosa which was delicious as well but the curry sauce that accompanied it was by far the best I have ever had. So flavorful and had me wanting to go back and ask to buy the curry sauce itself! Will definitely order the buttered chicken next time we drive through the area.

A fantastic find! This spot serves truly authentic Indian food that is worth a detour if you're in the area. The produce is exceptionally fresh, and they even offer complimentary chai and coffee, a lovely touch. Don't skip the savory pies; the lamb, chocolate, and paneer options were all delicious. Highly recommended for a quick and flavorful stop. I tried the chicken sandwich and the samosa, fresh and tasty!

Having previously visited the Schat's location in Bishop, I had anticipated acquiring similar items in Mammoth prior to my return journey. Regrettably, even shortly after opening, the selection was quite limited, and many of the desired products were unavailable. I did purchase some sweet treats which were excellent; however, I was unable to obtain the bread and cake I had intended to purchase. In the future, I will plan to visit the Bishop bakery at the end of my trip, bypassing the Mammoth location.

If you’re visiting the mammoth Lake region and do you like bakeries this place is really good and highly recommended. Everything is baked fresh and tastes amazing. Try to visit in the daytime cause later they close the kitchen and the baked goods taste better fresh. They also have a sandwich section on the other side of the store, which is also pretty good.

We stopped in today for a bite to eat, and this place is pretty dang good! We ordered some tortas, and got some pan, as well as their frappes, all of which were/are very delicious! The lady working there was sooo nice, and helpful. She made us feel very welcome, and the wait time wasn't bad either. You can eat there, or order to go. It's also extremely clean inside, which I had to mention, cause some places aren't all that tidy. Anywho, we will mos-def be back to try more items, like their tamales! And yes, they are more than worth the drive from Reedley. 5⭐'s all day, for their friendly service, the quick wait time, the great atmosphere, and of course the awesome tasting food! Thank you, La Luna Bakery & Cafe, for being amazing!!!

The Central Valley is known for its pan dulce, Mexican sweet breads and pastries, reflecting the region's strong cultural influences. Coastal bakeries often specialize in sea salt pastries and fish-shaped biscuits, utilizing the region’s bounty. Exploring these regional specialties offers a truly authentic taste of California.

How do California bakeries typically approach ingredient sourcing?

There's a growing trend towards sustainable practices, with bakers seeking out eco-friendly packaging and minimizing waste – a commitment to quality extends to their supply chain.

What is the typical pricing structure at California bakeries?

Simple items like cookies or muffins might cost around $3-$5, while elaborate cakes or artisan breads can range from $15 to $50 or more. Specialty items, such as custom-designed cakes or gluten-free options, often carry a premium price. Be sure to check for specials and promotions.
