The casino itself is very good, we even enjoyed the food at the noodle bar. It’s just the room is quite dirty, we booked for 2 nights but we didn’t even get a cleaning in our room, because we were out early morning and back in the evening for a side trip, so we didn’t catch the housekeeping. They barely give us coffee when we asked for it as if they don’t want to give. On the other hand, we loved the gym, this looks very fancy, complete equipments, and with proper towel and water included, the apple is the bonus as well. Honestly, the gym looks way better than the room.

This casino is actually really nice and well kept. The gambling portion of the casino it’s kind of small honestly, but the entertainment options are pretty solid. Please be aware that there is a lot of riff-raff coming in and out of this place and living in the immediate surrounding area. The casino security is under prepared and really has no business galvanting around pretending that they’re actual police. There are often hit and runs, physical altercations, drunk driving, and inebriated patrons causing problems almost every weekend.

I had a very disappointing experience during my stay at this casino hotel. When my wife and I checked in on May 24, 2026, around 5:30 PM, the front desk employee placed us on hold three separate times to answer phone calls. This felt unprofessional and dismissive. His explanation was that a high-level executive was staying at the hotel, which did not seem relevant to how paying guests should be treated. Upon entering our room, we immediately noticed a large cockroach, which was extremely concerning. Overall, the room gave off the feel of a low-budget hotel, despite the high price we paid. Basic amenities were lacking — water bottles were priced at $4 each, only a very small (1 fl oz) body wash was provided for a two-day stay, and there were no cotton swabs or even a simple bar of soap for handwashing hands . The buffet was also overpriced at $90 for two people and did not justify the cost. The casino floor itself was unpleasant, with a strong cigarette odor throughout. Guests were smoking cigars and vaping , infrint of casino Management making the environment uncomfortable. Additionally, the slot machines were placed too close together, with chairs practically touching, leaving little personal space. Floor staff appeared disengaged, often standing around talking to each other while watching guests play, which felt uncomfortable. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it will be my last time at this Casino Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend considering other nearby options, Table Mountain Casino is approx 15 minutes away and treats there guest with far more Respect which offer a far better overall experience.

Had a great stay overall and would come back again. The location is excellent, just a couple of miles from Yosemite. We stayed in a King Spa Room at first and loved it. After extending our stay, we had to move to a different room because ours was no longer available. The renovation felt dated and the finish quality didn’t match the price point. One thing we didn’t expect was how family oriented the resort is. There was nothing wrong with that, but the pools and hot tubs were always full of kids, so we never really got a chance to relax there. The front desk staff were friendly, although we felt the level of attentiveness wasn’t quite what you’d expect from a 4-star resort and a little more proactivity would go a long way. Overall, we enjoyed our time here and would stay again.

To start with i am getting right to the food. 10/10! the Jackolope restaurant was amazing. i had the Ribeye steak with a mixture of mashed potatoes and asparagus. My wife had the roasted chicken 10/10. Coming from South dakota, we have our fair share of steak and chicken. This place really knows how to cook. As for the resort it was great, we loved the activities offered, and it is so close to the main mariposa trees here. Next time i think i would stay in the resort and not a lodge. The lodge was great! but we love to sleep in and rest: The side noise from other guest slamming doors and packing in the morning you can hear. But that is no knock on the place, just an observation. Thank you we will be back again!

Such a beautiful resort, the scenery is amazing and service was great. The rooms are a little dated, and the corridors needed a little upkeep although I will say the staff was constantly going around wiping surfaces clean, etc. They could do a little better with the towel inventory in the pool area and they offer a lot of included activities for the kids that were very appreciated. The only big letdown was the air-conditioning in the room. We had to call the front desk twice about the AC not working. It was a constant 76° which made the overnight stay a little uncomfortable.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Anaheim for three nights while visiting Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. Overall, it was an excellent experience. The Pros: The staff truly made the stay memorable. They were incredibly accommodating and friendly throughout our trip. A special shout-out to the employee at the on-site Starbucks who went above and beyond to give my partner a free coffee for his birthday—a really thoughtful gesture given that Starbucks rewards aren’t applicable there. The location is fantastic for Disney travelers; it was an easy, pleasant 15-minute walk to the park entrance. Getting to Knott’s was also simple, with an Uber costing about $20 and taking roughly 20 minutes. The hotel itself felt very updated, and our room was clean and comfortable. The Cons: There were a couple of minor maintenance issues. The shower in our room (14-502) had intermittent fluctuations with both water pressure and temperature. Additionally, the ice machine on the 14th floor was out of order for the duration of our stay, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall: Despite the minor plumbing and ice machine hiccups, we really enjoyed our stay. The combination of the updated facilities and the top-tier staff makes this a great home base for anyone planning a Southern California theme park vacation. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful hotel! Our room was so nice – everything was in pristine shape and very clean/well maintained. The pool was also a big hit, as were the drinks from the bars. We also liked the proximity to Disneyland and being able to take the shuttle when needed (which is an extra cost but very affordable). I’ll be recommending this hotel to all my friends and family coming to stay in the area!

Wonderful experience. Check-in was easy, and the staff was hospitable. They will hold your luggage if your room isn’t ready upon arrival. Rooms were reasonably sized and comfortable. The bell desk was helpful and friendly. The bathroom was a tad small. The pool area was a highlight. The splash pad was well maintained, and the hot tubs/jacuzzis were the perfect temperature. Around 5, the sun was past the building, and the whole area was cast in the shade, which can be important on a 90-degree day. Walking distance to great dining and entertainment. However, if you are here for a conference, they struggle to accommodate the number of participants with the meager food truck offerings. Overall, a great choice whether you are in town to play at the parks or work at the convention center.

We had an awesome stay here. The team was incredibly friendly from the porters who graciously helped with our MANY bags, to the gentleman out front who, when not busy, would always open the door for us. Martha in the market was a standout for her bright and cheery demeanor. The shuttle to Disneyland is wonderful and was much faster than any other way to get to the park. The room was spacious, but the bathroom, while nicely done, was oddly small. The Starbucks was a favorite for my travel partner. I will stay here again on our next trip.

Before booking, please read my review. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff is friendly. However, there are a few things you should know. Even though the booking says breakfast is included, it isn’t. You have to pay for breakfast separately. There is no complimentary bottled water, no microwave in the room, and no toothbrush, toothpaste, or slippers. I live in Las Vegas, one of the biggest tourist cities in the world, and parking almost everywhere costs less than it does here. Charging $50 per night for parking is simply ridiculous. It feels like they attract guests with a lower room rate, then make up for it with expensive parking and extra charges. Overall, it feels very misleading, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

We had the pleasure of staying here from July 9–12 while celebrating my wife’s 50th birthday with our two boys (14 and 11). Before our stay, I reached out to the hotel to let them know we were celebrating a special occasion, and Sarah Monks went above and beyond to make our trip truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel was exceptionally clean, the beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the shower had fantastic water pressure (plus a handheld wand, which was a nice touch!). After long days at Disneyland, the pool and hot tubs were the perfect way to relax. If you don’t feel like walking to the parks, a Lyft was only about $10. Having a Starbucks right inside the hotel was another great bonus. We honestly don’t have a single complaint about our stay. Thank you to Sarah and the entire team for making our family celebration so special. We can’t wait to come back! The Howe Family

I hadn’t stayed at the Hilton Anaheim in three years because of a terrible experience I had during my last visit. After letting plenty of time pass, I decided to give the property another chance. Unfortunately, it was just as disappointing. The room had multiple maintenance issues. The shower head is mounted on a sliding bar because of a metal box above the shower, but it won’t stay in the upright position, making it frustrating to use. The air conditioner rattled loudly the entire time it was running, and to make matters worse, the AC was completely off when I arrived, so the room was nearly 80 degrees. Walking into a hot room after a long day is not the experience I’d expect from a Hilton property. I was genuinely hoping things had improved since my last stay, but this visit only reinforced why I stopped coming here in the first place. I currently have approximately $2,400 in rooms booked here for September, and based on this experience, I’ll be canceling those reservations and staying elsewhere. It’s disappointing because the location is great, but the property and guest experience continue to fall well below expectations. Edit: It gets even better that the people in the room next to us were fighting well past Midnight and we could hear their yelling through the connecting door.

The hotel is directly across the street from the airport, and you wouldn’t even know because you can’t hear the airplanes. The hotel is literally next or near to everything. What a great facility. They have several places to eat at. They also have a nice pool area and a great workout facility. The rooms are spacious and so comfortable. We had a great view of the harbor.

This is probably my 5th or 6th time staying here in the last year. Every visit has been perfect with no issues. I was really impressed with this trip as I was offered complimentary breakfast when I checked in at 10am. When went to the restaurant, Victor who I recognized from my visit in February welcomed by name. I’m sure he checked on that because I had given my room number already – but it is still a nice touch. My room was ready by the time I finished breakfast, and the rest of my time here has been perfect. To management you have a great team here — thank you for your service!

An absolutely off-the-charts 5-star experience! Note for travelers: There are two Sheratons near the airport. The Resort & Marina is the beautifully and newly renovated location, while the Four Points is the older property. Due to a mix-up, I booked our first night at the Resort, but my husband accidentally booked our second night at the Four Points. When we arrived, the receptionist—huge shout-out to Luke, he’s the man!—completely fixed the mistake on the spot and got us settled into the Resort for both nights. The property is stunning. We enjoyed fantastic margaritas and salads at the poolside restaurant, Sunglow, while ogling the boats in the Harbor Island marina. Our room also had a gorgeous view of downtown San Diego. To top it all off, I accidentally left my purse (with our passports for our flight to Spain the next day!) at Rumorosa restaurant. Hotel security delivered it intact straight to our room. Sheraton is known for service, but this team is next-level. We will definitely be back!

Very convenient location for a atopover prior to departure. Hotel has a very nice ambience, rooms newly renovated, amazing marina view, comfortable bed. Restaurant options downstairs, La Colombe cafe open till 11, rhe strand shop for unique local souveniers. Shuttle to and from the airport. Shoutout to CJ from the front desk. He was welcoming, efficient and made sure to accommodate our request (room near lift). Highly recommended hotel!

Wonderful location, attentive staff. The lady at the front desk asked if I’m a loyalty member, which I forgot that I was. Got room upgraded, 10th floor with a view to downtown. Food was delicious, we really enjoyed the pool and the fire pits. We even had some visitors on the balcony.

I was extremely disappointed with my 3 night stay at the Sheraton Resort. I had multiple issues checking in and receiving the room requested monthls ago when the reservation was made. They staff was not at all accommodating, and I had to switch rooms twice, even after specifically talking to someone when the reservation was made. The room was not as clean as I would have expected from a Sheraton. Housekeeping is definitely not the best. The atmosphere in the lobby was loud! Music was at the highest level, making it difficult to have a conversation. The food at both restaurants on the property (BreweryX and Rumorosa) were mediocre, and you will wait a long time for your order. Upon checkout (10:45 am) I ordered a hot tea and toast (to go) from Rumorosa. I had finished my tea and was still waiting for the toast. TWENTY MINUTES later the bartender went back to the kitchen and brough out the toast in a Togo box. I couldn’t believe what I saw, one piece of cold bread that wasn’t even toasted. The bartender didn’t even apologize for the wait time, just told me the kitchen was short staffed (which I really hate when employees give excuses for their incompetence). Not my problem! I asked for my money back and he said it would be refunded back onto my card (which never happened). I went to Papanani’s Cafe (a 5 minute walk between the Sheraton Resort and Sheraton Towers). I ordered toast there. They served two slices of beautifully toasted sourdough bread and whipped butter. Sheraton needs to take note of how to prepare something as simple as toast. Something my 3 year old granddaughter can make in less than 1 minute. To wait 20 minutes is absolutely ridiculous!!!! Our company had planned on choosing this hotel for an upcoming event, but after rating my experience here, and providing details to the team, we’ve decided to choose another hotel in the area. There are so many other lovely hotels in the area, I’m sorry to say that the Sheraton Resort has lost our business, and that of our sister companies.

While I wasn’t initially very impressed with the room itself—it was nicely remodeled and very clean, but the A/C unit was old and made random whistling noises whenever it was cooling—the outstanding customer service completely changed my experience. As distressed passengers dealing with a significant flight delay, my daughters and I simply needed a comfortable place to rest, and the customer service team went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I communicated with them frequently through the Marriott app, and every interaction was prompt, caring, and genuinely focused on ensuring we had a pleasant stay. The team even provided us with a complimentary late check-out until 2 p.m., which made our travel day much less stressful and allowed us to get to the airport right on time (it’s less than 5-minute by the shuttle or rideshare). I was especially impressed that both the customer service and maintenance teams are available 24/7. It’s clear that the staff works hard to make guests feel supported and cared for. Kudos to the entire team at Sheraton San Diego Resort, and especially to Meghan, one of the managers, who promptly helped resolve an issue with my folio. She was professional, responsive, and genuinely caring during what was already a stressful travel situation. Her assistance made the process much easier, and I am very grateful for her outstanding customer service. Thank you for turning a stressful travel situation into a much more comfortable experience.

The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Upon entering the room smelled a little musty or old but after we started running the air it cleared somewhat. The pool was bigger than any other we researched. It was heated, 9 foot deep at the deepest and had a few pool noodles so my kids had an amazing time. The hot tub was hot. We utilized the washer and drier, $4/load each speed queens so 40 min for wash and 40-60 min to dry; worked great and I felt safe leaving it unattended. Felt very safe in general here. It had a room with the microwave and ice machine which was helpful as no microwave in room (could rent $5/ day if you wanted in the room). We didn’t use the restaurant on site as a little pricer but a great option. Would stay here again. Only 10-12 min from the zoo!

We had a wonderful stay at the Kings Inn San Diego! The customer service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help, which made us feel right at home. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the property grounds were exceptionally nice. The landscaping and overall upkeep of the hotel really stood out and created a relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. The only minor downside was that the hot water in the shower didn’t stay hot for very long, which was a little disappointing. However, this was a small issue compared to all the positives we experienced. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return. Great value, excellent service, clean accommodations, and beautiful grounds make this a fantastic place to stay in San Diego!

This is an older motel, but it’s exceptionally well maintained. Every front desk staff member we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. A special shoutout to Vebs, who kindly accommodated our request to switch rooms. Location was mostly quiet, with an occasionally loud engine here and there. Housekeeping was excellent. They didn’t just replace the towels, but also swept the floors and made the beds every day. Their attention to detail definitely earned our tips. A few things to know before you book: parking is $15 per night, and if you’d like a microwave in your room, it’s an additional $5 per night. Otherwise, there is a communal microwave located near the ice machines by the pool. I agree with other reviews that the bathroom is quite small. My husband and I are both on the shorter side, and even we found the layout around the door and toilet a little awkward. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, though. Our kids absolutely loved the pool and hot tub. They also had a blast playing with the pool toys that previous guests had left behind. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again!

So far so good! The rooms are super clean and comfortable. The floors are hard wood which I love! The carpet in hotels gross me out so total bonus! The pool is super nice and heated. Great place if you’re traveling with kiddos. The Mexican restaurant has good food! The only thing that I’ve noticed is that the staff doesn’t seem very friendly. When you first arrive, it can be kind of overwhelming to try to figure out where things are and I haven’t had one staff member offer help finding something. It kind of feels like we’re an inconvenience. Maybe it was just the end of shift and they were tired. But I definitely don’t feel comfortable asking for help. Will update once the trip is over! We’re here for quite some time!

Stayed here a while back but didn’t leave a review. Wow this hotel is like a Time Machine taking you back to California’s Golden Age! The vibes, building and aesthetic are nostalgic. You almost forget what year it is! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are what they are. Some negative reviews make no sense, so take those with a grain of salt. It’s a hotel, not a bed and breakfast. The facility is very well maintained and patrolled. The area is quiet and perfect for families or get away couples. My only suggestion to the hotel is maybe offer some sort of breakfast option or restaurant voucher. I understand that’s how costs are kept low, but maybe even offer some sort of grab and go breakfast for people staying. Other than that it’s perfect!

Came here with my two older kids. Yes, it’s not a new hotel, it’s got that retro ’90s style. But it’s kept clean and well cared for. The staff is great and will help with anything you need. The location is excellent, on par with the higher-end hotels. The pool was the perfect temperature, and we had a lot of fun hanging around it after our daily activities. We didn’t really try the hotel’s restaurant because my daughter is celiac, and the front desk told us they’re not gluten-free. They may actually have options, we only asked the front desk, not the restaurant itself, so it’s worth checking directly if that matters to you. Either way, we managed easily since we’d rented a car and ate out. I’d come here again for sure.

We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western in Oakhurst on our way to visit Yosemite National Park. The staff was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond by allowing us to check in a day early, which we truly appreciated. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. We also brought our dog, and the hotel was extremely pet-friendly without having that obvious «pets stay here» feel, if you know what I mean. Everything was fresh and well maintained. The complimentary breakfast was also very nice, with a great variety including cereal, oatmeal, waffles, eggs, toast, sausage, fruit, and more. It was the perfect way to start the day before heading to Yosemite. Overall, the customer service really stood out. The staff made the entire experience enjoyable, and we would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely the best decision to stay here ! Not only do they have complimentary breakfast, friendly staff, & two pools (indoor/outdoor) but this place makes you feel like you’re walking through a forest. At each corner your eyes turn there’s so much greenery and outside sitting, along with a BBQ outdoor patio next to the pool. If you’re looking for luxury and modern style stay this won’t satisfy your needs but definitely a budget friendly place and for me the amenities outweighed the «luxury» Rooms are well equipped in my opinion with a microwave, mini fridge, and individual sink. Can’t wait to book our Sprint stay next year!

This is a retro-style hotel that is meticulously maintained. The rooms had a cool old style but were clean and beautiful. The property is on a hillside and each building is surrounded by beautiful gardens, as is all the outdoor pools and hot tubs. We slept 5 in a room with 3 queen beds and everyone slept great. It had an amazing free breakfast. If we come back to Yosemite or SEKI, we would look at staying here again. My only regret is not eating dinner at this hotel.

What an absolute treat. This was clearly built as an independent hotel (the picture of the builder is in the lobby) before becoming a best western. It is absolutely filled with personal touches and careful attention to detail and the design. The rooms feel very private due to the thoughtful landscapes around the property. They are large, too. And the staff were very pleasant and helpful, including with tips for going into Yosemite.

The rooms are a little dated, but if you can get past that and realize you’re there for the atmosphere, you’re golden. The views certainly didn’t disappoint. Was nice having an in-room fireplace. We made good use of that during our stay. It was convenient having the restaurant right there for the first night. After a long drive to the hotel that was a real bonus. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The property is dated but comfortable and clean. Bed was comfortable and pillows were generously big. The grounds are extensive with plenty of places to sit and watch the ocean. Beach access was easy if you aren’t mobility challenged. Staff is very friendly. We watched a pod of dolphins play from the bench by the bluff. I would absolutely stay here again.

Motel, not a resort! Only king rooms have view of beach. 2 queen rooms are in parking lot – view of cars. Rooms are old and carpet and bathrooms are pretty gross. Mini bar fridge is barely cool and no microwave- we even asked at front desk. Paying for proximity to beach. We wish we had stayed in Cambria – SUPER CUTE!

I stayed at this motel from Saturday, August 1, to Sunday, August 2, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The room was not properly cleaned, and the bathtub was extremely dirty and drain was not working. I had to contact the front desk, and they sent someone to clean and service it while I was still in the room. A guest should not have to request basic cleaning after checking in. I also accidentally left an expensive pair of headphones in the room. I called the motel on Monday, the day after checking out, but I was told that nothing had been found. I returned in person on Tuesday and spoke with the manager, but I received the same response. I understand that guests are responsible for their belongings, but considering how quickly I contacted the motel, I expected the situation to be handled with more care and concern. Between the poor cleanliness and the way the missing item was handled, this was a very bad experience. Based on my stay, I cannot recommend this motel.

This hotel is a great choice for people looking to tour Hearst castle. Beach is a 5 minute walk. The service is kind and attentive and everything we had from the on-site restaurant was a hit. The only mark against it was the dated and old room. It was relatively clean but its age made it look less clean than it was. Would stay again but will specify/ask for a better room.

You are TAKING ADVANTAGE of your guests with your prices!! $400 a night for this? That’s down right DIABOLICAL! I mean…. nice location of course, on the ocean…but that’s where it ALL MOSTLY STOPS! Very outdated and dirty old rooms. There were snot rags (used tissues) all behind the night stands and carpets were dingy and old as can be. Wore our shoes most days in the room. Coffee makers in the rooms are a straight up health code hazards. You open the machine, and the water resevoir is saturated with dirt and hard water. Just looks like a toxic disaster. I just wanted a cup of coffee…so was forced to order it from your overpriced restaurant. No microwave is a cute way of you trying to force us to eat at your health hazard waiting to happen, restaurant I’m guessing? Very old and outdated restaurant, pool, list goes on. We were scared to eat at the restaurant after arriving and using the restrooms after a long drive… spoke VOLUMES!! Whole place smelled and looked DINGY when you walk in! Bathrooms were disgusting! Im not gonna say what is all over the walls around the mens unrinals! Filthy place! Ya’ll should be seriously ashamed! ESPECIALLY for what ya’ll are charging per night! And your restaurant FOOD PRICES! THEY ARE CRAZY!! For an old run down facility like this! It’s border line ILLEGAL. I get ya’ll have a beach front property and all…. BUT ENDS THERE. MAJOR let down unfortunately. We traveled very far to come here, and were not overly impressed to say the least. We ordered some food from your restaurant to our room VERY cautiously – after seeing your restaurant upon arrival. Like as in: Just salad, coffee, bacon lol SAFEST bets as possible food illness wise. The ocean front room VIEW is nice (not the rooms), and staff was courteous for the most part (arriving – young gal at front desk was not to enthused to be at work). Rest of the folks were great. Special shout out to «Roxy» I beleive her name was? She was professional and made the place shine more than all the dirt that hides its true potential!! I’D KINDLY ADVISE THAT THE OWNERS STOP BEING CHEAP AND GIVE THIS PLACE THE FULL OVERHAUL IT DESPERATELY NEEDS – AND HAS BEEN NEEDING… THAT – OR DROP THE PRICES TO UNDER HALF OF WHAT YOU ARE CHARGING… Online pics make it look so much nicer. BECAUSE IT’S TRULY HIGHWAY ROBBERY FOR WHAT YOU GET FOR YOUR $$ …

Soon as we got off the elevator to our floor we were hit with extremely strong cheap dollar store cleaning chemicals even stronger when we got into the room. Beds are super firm. Shower was gross and moldy. Called for more towels and none ever showed up. Curtains look they’re supposed to close but the don’t never seen anything like it. So be ready yo wake up when the suns up. Would never stay here again. The location is not bad so may try a neighboring hotel next time but not this dump. And I know the GM Casey will offer the generic apology and talk to the staff and check the room which you can find under my last name 7/10th-12th. I’ll go ahead and send these mold photos to Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

This was my first time staying at your hotel, and it exceeded my expectations. Isabel at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. The hotel is also conveniently located near Universal, less than a 20-minute drive away. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable for two people. The free airport shuttle was an added bonus. I will definitely stay here again.

Last September, I left a review after my first time staying here and I gave them 3 stars because I had a few issues with how I was treated by the staff. With that being said, I deleted that review so I can leave a more positive one. Two months ago when booking a trip for leisure I decided to give Hotel Burbank another try because I did like the location, the convenience, and the cleanliness of the rooms. Last Wednesday I checked in and this morning I checked out. From the moment I checked in until this morning when I left, I was treated very kindly by every staff member I encountered; the front desk staff, the cafe, bar staff, house keeping, and the shuttle drivers. Everyone was accommodating and very helpful. My room was on the 6th floor, it was clean, tidy and my view was great. I used the pool a couple times; it was nice and clean. I utilized the laundry room twice, that too was clean, and affordable, I’m so grateful they have one. My only gripe was that my bed was a bit too firm, it wasn’t too comfortable, BUUUUUUT, that’s okay, the rest of my experience this time around at Hotel Burbank was great. I definitely recommend staying here.

It’s a bit dated and I’m not a fan of the 11 AM check out but if you’re into liminal spaces, this is your place. Incredibly spacious rooms and every public space is expansive. Bath towels leave much to be desired tho but the AC works great.

The hotel is great. The pull out couch feels like its from the 80’s but it was manageable. The king bed itself was comfortable. The room overall was clean and what we were wanting for our visit to the area.

From our initial interaction wth the driver who picked us up at the airport, to the wonderful conversation and recommendations from Justin at the front desk, this has been a great experience. The bed slept great, the room was well equipped and very clean. It’s not fancy, just really nice and comfortable. The property is located near lots of choices in dining and shopping. This hotel offers exceptional value.

Excellent location in the National Park. Short walk from car park to hotel room & restaurant / reception. A shop on site which is great for your needs. Restaurant booking is a must. Food was good & great views. There is also an outdoor pizza deck, where you can take drinks. The rooms were clean, older cabin style accommodation, bathroom shower curtain style & not the best shower.

Wuksachi Lodge was a top highlight of our two-week summer road trip. We stayed two nights in a Superior King room in the Silliman building. It was spacious, clean, and quiet. Everything was excellent! What a peaceful place to stay. It was expensive (~$400/night), but absolutely worth it. I can’t imagine staying outside the park and driving in. The proximity to the sights of Sequoia is hard to beat. Come & stay here… and ignore the crazy insanity that are the Yosemite valley hotels!

This was the perfect place to grab breakfast before hitting the trail. Also a good place to use some Wi-Fi before hitting the trail. If you need to plan out your trip or use the Maps. We came on a weekday so it wasn’t too crowded. The service was really great! And the food was delicious. Surprisingly fair prices. Overall a great stop.

Common with most people, our primary reason for booking a room here was the convenience of being in the National Park. The staff were helpful – as an example, we were given complimentary toothbrushes as we were unable to recharge our electric toothbrush. Whilst we did not take breakfast we ate in the restaurant on two nights and enjoyed our food. We also booked and enjoyed a star gazing evening which began at the reception area of the Lodge. Our room was quiet and comfortable.

Wuksachi Lodge has a wonderful location surrounded by the beautiful nature of Sequoia National Park. One of the things we especially enjoy is being able to step outside the lodge at night and observe the incredible starry sky. The surroundings are truly special, and this is one of the reasons we have returned here over the years. The rooms are clean, with fresh towels and bed linen, and the bathroom is perfectly adequate. However, there are a few things that really should be improved, especially considering that rooms can cost more than $300 per night. The first is the luggage situation. The parking area is below the accommodation buildings, so guests have to load their suitcases onto luggage carts and pull them uphill along the paths to their rooms. The paths are also not particularly well lit, which makes this especially unpleasant when arriving after dark. There is a road above the accommodation buildings, and it seems that a system could easily be organized allowing guests to briefly unload their luggage closer to the rooms and then park their cars below. We have been coming here for years and are surprised that a better solution has still not been introduced. The second issue is noise. Once you lie down at night expecting the wonderful silence of Sequoia, you instead hear various mechanical noises – ventilation fans, refrigerator compressors, ice machines or equipment from neighboring rooms. Our refrigerator in particular was old and quite noisy. At this price level, replacing old refrigerators and fans with modern, quieter equipment would make a significant difference to the experience. Overall, we still like Wuksachi Lodge very much because of its exceptional location, beautiful natural surroundings and clean rooms. But some aspects of the accommodation infrastructure feel dated and could definitely be improved. With better luggage access and quieter modern equipment, the experience would be considerably better and much more appropriate for the price.

Original room was difficult to get into. After presenting the key card to the reader the door knob would not turn enough for to open the door. After about the 4th or 5th attempt was able to finally get the door knob to turn enough to open the door. After entering the room the door didn’t close without the assistance of my body weight pushing the door close. Went back to front desk to report the issue, was greeted with attitude and perplexity as to why we didn’t call for maintenance. We told the front desk clerk that we welcome maintenance to try n fix the door however we voiced our concern that if maintenance is unable to fix the door to where we felt safe, then we obviously can’t stay there. Fortunately there was another clerk there that understood our concern and moved us to another room. The rooms was dated and the mini fridge seemed to match the age of the room. There was a mild hint of funk in the room near where the mini fridge was, which was reported on check out day. The a/c unit worked well and kept the room cold. The location of the hotel is the selling point, close to mall, university, trolley system. Also the free parking, however if paying for parking offers better comfort then its an acceptable trade off.

BE AWARE OF ANTS!!!!! Checked in, everything was fine. Then at 6am there’s a loud sound coming from another room/outside. We wake up to ants EVERYWHERE. On the table, on the floor, even on our bed. When we went to check out and raised our complaints they said they can’t do anything about the noise and that it’s ant season and because they had us in the building in the back by hill there’s not much they can do about that. Asked for a refund because the whole room was infested with ants and even tho we tried making sure we got them off our stuff before leaving they still ended up in our car and now have to pay for a deep clean. They only refunded a third when they should’ve refunded the whole room. Sucks because it’s a nice hotel in a good location, this definitely ruined our stay.

overall for the price paid compared to others in the area, great value. the room was in nice condition, everything worked well. the fridge temperature dial needed to be turned on to work and it would’ve been nice to get a heads up on that. no noise whatsoever, generally safe area never felt weird at all. would’ve loved a microwave but only six are on the property and other rooms had them during our whole stay. both ac & heat worked well. we were able to drop off our bags before check in to explore which was nice. the layout is motel style where you access your room from outside, but that was the common theme for most hotels we saw in the area. the only thing that made the stay a little inconvenient was the location. we thought «hotel circle» would be close & central given that it must be touristy, but it felt a little out of the way of most things. the public transit nearby wasn’t great, there were two bus stops right outside and another about an eight minute walk away, then a trolley station 15 minutes walk. it took a significant amount of time to get anywhere by bus or trolley, and in the end we had to uber or lyft (so expensive) a lot due to 30 + minute transit times. i’m not old enough to rent a car yet but i would 100% say it’s necessary if you want a hotel in this area. if you wanna be closer to the zoo, beach, petco park, anything really i would stay elsewhere, however this was the right choice for our budget.

We had an unpleasant experience with front desk employee named ISAAC regarding a serious safety concern with our room. The door to our assigned room was not locking properly, which made us feel unsafe and uncomfortable staying in the room. We immediately brought this issue to the front desk and requested a different room because we did not feel secure in a room with a door that could not properly lock. The front desk employee (ISAAC) told us that he would send maintenance to fix the door. However, he was very reluctant to provide us with a different room, despite the fact that this was a legitimate safety and security concern. What was even more disappointing was his rude and disrespectful attitude toward us while we were simply trying to ensure that we had a safe place to stay. ISAAC for sure was speaking to us like he owned Best Western! We should not have had to argue or repeatedly request a different room because of a basic security issue. A guest should be treated with courtesy and understanding, especially when reporting a potential safety problem. Fortunately, another employee eventually assisted us and provided us with a different room. We appreciate that employee for taking our concern seriously and helping resolve the situation. However, I believe the conduct of the first front desk employee (ISAAC)should be addressed. Guests should never be made to feel that their safety concerns are an inconvenience, nor should they be treated disrespectfully for requesting a secure room. I ask that management review this incident and take appropriate steps to ensure that both room safety issues and guest concerns are handled promptly and professionally in the future. By the way, rooms were not worth $340 for 2 nights. So different from any Best Westerns we’ve used before!

Frequently asked questions about hotels in California

What factors should I consider when choosing a hotel in California?

Selecting a hotel in California requires careful consideration of several factors, primarily the location, which heavily influences your experience. Think about proximity to attractions, transportation options, and the neighborhood's character. Also, evaluate the hotel's amenities – does it offer a pool, gym, free breakfast, or parking? Budget is obviously a key factor, so compare rates across different hotels and consider seasonality, which can significantly impact prices.

How much does it typically cost to stay in a hotel in California?

Hotel costs in California vary dramatically depending on a multitude of elements. Los Angeles and San Francisco, for example, are consistently among the most expensive markets, particularly during peak seasons like summer and holidays. Coastal areas like Santa Barbara and Monterey command higher prices due to their desirability. Outside of these major cities, prices tend to be more moderate, but even smaller towns can see significant price increases depending on proximity to tourist attractions. Researching average nightly rates and booking in advance can help mitigate costs.

What are the different types of hotels available in California?

California offers a diverse range of hotel options, from large, chain hotels to boutique properties and smaller, independent establishments. You'll find luxury resorts in destinations like Palm Springs and Tahoe, alongside budget-friendly motels and inns. Consider the hotel type based on your travel style and desired amenities. Some hotels cater specifically to families, while others prioritize a more sophisticated or romantic atmosphere. Don’t forget to look into vacation rentals, which can offer more space and privacy.

Are there any specific hotel areas I should avoid in California?

While California boasts numerous excellent hotel destinations, certain areas can present challenges. Downtown Los Angeles, for example, can experience higher crime rates, particularly at night. Similarly, some areas within San Francisco can be considered unsafe, especially for solo travelers. Researching neighborhood safety ratings and reading recent reviews from other travelers is crucial before booking. Consider staying in areas with a higher concentration of police presence.

What are the best hotels in San Francisco?

San Francisco is renowned for its luxury hotels, with the Fairmont San Francisco and the Hotel Nikko San Francisco consistently receiving high praise. For a more boutique experience, the Hotel Vitale and the Argonaut Hotel are popular choices. Consider your budget and location preferences when selecting a hotel. Staying near Union Square offers easy access to shopping and transportation, while Fisherman's Wharf provides proximity to the waterfront.

How do hotel taxes affect the price in California?

Hotel taxes in California vary significantly by county and city. These taxes can add a substantial amount to your total bill, often ranging from 10% to 15% or even higher in some destinations. Be aware of these additional fees when comparing hotel rates. Some hotels include taxes in their advertised rates, while others do not. Always check the fine print to understand the total cost before booking.

What are the best hotels in Los Angeles?

Los Angeles offers a vast array of hotel options, catering to diverse tastes and budgets. The Beverly Hills Hotel is an iconic landmark, while the The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles offers unparalleled luxury. For a more modern experience, consider the Thompson Hollywood or the The Line Hotel. Neighborhoods like Santa Monica and Downtown Los Angeles also boast numerous excellent hotels, each with its unique charm.

What amenities should I look for in a California hotel?

When selecting a hotel in California, prioritize amenities that align with your travel needs. Free Wi-Fi is almost universally available, but some hotels offer premium Wi-Fi packages. Pools are particularly desirable in the warmer months, and fitness centers are common in larger hotels. Consider hotels with on-site restaurants and room service for convenience. Parking can be a significant expense, so check if the hotel offers free parking or has a valet service.

What are some good family-friendly hotels in California?

For families traveling to California, look for hotels that offer family-friendly amenities, such as swimming pools, kids' clubs, and spacious rooms. The Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa is a popular choice along the coast, while the Hilton Anaheim Hotel & Convention Center is conveniently located near Disneyland. Many hotels offer connecting rooms or suites to accommodate larger families. Researching childcare services and family activities can enhance your trip.

How can I find the best deals on hotel rooms in California?

Securing the best deals on hotel rooms in California requires a strategic approach. Utilize online travel agencies (OTAs) like Expedia, Booking.com, and Hotels.com to compare rates from multiple hotels. Consider booking last-minute deals, but be aware that availability may be limited. Joining hotel loyalty programs can unlock discounts and benefits. Traveling during the off-season or shoulder seasons can also result in significant savings. Regularly checking for promotions and coupon codes is a worthwhile endeavor.
