ParkSJ: Second and San Carlos Street Garage

Don't know why people are criticizing the parking spot. Parked on Friday evening between 8-11. Paid $7 Friday gets busy but there was ample of parking on top levels like 3&4

Good central location. Payment was easy- just make sure to have your ticket on you and pay at the kiosk before returning to your car. Also, didn’t even have to insert my ticket at exit because apparently their system had scanned my license plate!

First 90 minutes are free which is great for most visits downtown. Convenient location for restaurants, Cesar Chavez Park, SJ Museum of Art, California Theater, and so much more. Easy access from Monterey Rd to Third Street. Skip all the traffic and lights at First/Market and San Carlos.

I decided to go to this parking garage since it’s close to a restaurant I want to go to. It’s very packed and narrow here compared to the one I usually go. Literally, every floor level is packed which made go all the way to the rooftop. It’s very hectic here and just be careful navigating here. It would have been much easier if the paths aren’t narrow, which is no wonder why it’s all one-way. The good news is that you get the first 90 minutes for free parking and then $1 per 15 minutes ($4 per hour). Other than that, it’s just quite hard navigating from here but at least you can go here for your convenience for walking distance from here to another place nearby.

5 stars. High bar for San Jose parking garages and this one clears it: easy to get in and out, 90 minutes free, felt safe, and it didn’t smell like pee
