I had a terrible experience with this doctor. We arrived only 13 minutes late because Google Maps directed us to the wrong location. We also tried calling the clinic several times, but nobody answered the phone. I’ve never been to a doctor’s office where the appointment starts exactly on time every single time. Refusing to see a patient over a 13-minute delay—especially under these circumstances—shows a complete lack of understanding and professionalism. The attitude was extremely disappointing.
Would not recommend. The nurses are rude. They cancelled my NIPT appointment the day before with no effort to reschedule, which set everything back. Finally did it and have called multiple times asking for my results, and doctor Alborz Borjian refuses to release them until my next appointment- by then I’ll be almost 5 months. NIPT tests should be done at 10 weeks. On top of that, Dr Borjian was an hour late to my first appointment, parking is expensive, the facility is dirty, and the water machine is always broken. This is my first pregnancy, and instead of feeling excited and supported, I’ve felt stressed. I would strongly suggest finding a different OB and would not recommend this doctor to anyone.
I would like to express gratitude to Doctor Alborz Borjian for exceptional biopsy. As many women described this procedure extremely painful and hard to go through, for me it was very easy. Doctor is super skillful, comforting, caring in his medical performance but also he is a bright individual. He is always on time, I never had a long waiting. The laboratory results posted fast. I had a serious issue and can not be more greatful for the Doctor Alborz Borjian presence at this moment.
Dr M. Torosis , incredibly knowledgeable, her bedside manner is great, overall exceptional doctor. She is going to open an office in Santa Monica - I hope to be the first patient to welcome her in Santa Monica. Thank you
The call center they work with is horrible at scheduling, they’ve been working with them for a few years and every year they make it so hard scheduling. I called to reschedule my appointment and they hung up on me the first time. I immediately called back and I could literally hear a rooster in the background screaming. Then the person on the phone tells me I can't reschedule because I have two active insurances, that information was not given to me when I scheduled my appointment or previous appointments. I was coming in for my annual check up she said I needed authorization from my insurance before coming in to the appointment. I called my insurance and they told me annual check ups do not need authorization. I won't be going back. Get knowledgeable professional people to work your phone lines the call center you’re paying is a joke.
I had a terrible experience with them. I had a 9:00 a.m. appointment as a new patient at Marina OB/GYN. I arrived at the medical building on time, but Google Maps directed me to the wrong side of the building. I immediately tried calling the office for help locating the unit, but nobody answered my call. After wasting valuable time trying to find the correct location, a man outside the building finally helped me find the office. I arrived at the office at 9:13 a.m. and explained the situation. I also told the staff that I had taken the day off from work specifically for this appointment and had made the effort to be there. I respectfully asked if the doctor could still see me, but my request was dismissed because I was a few minutes past their 10-minute new patient policy. I understand that medical offices have schedules and policies, but the lack of consideration and flexibility was extremely disappointing. I was already at the building on time, I tried calling for assistance, and the delay was caused by difficulty locating the office—not because I was careless or disrespectful of their time. Turning away a new patient who had taken time off work and made the effort to attend an appointment, without any attempt to accommodate the situation, felt unprofessional and showed a lack of compassion. I hope the office improves its communication by providing clearer directions and ensuring patients can reach someone by phone when they need assistance. More importantly, I hope future patients are treated with more understanding and respect.
When I arrived at this clinic suffering from acute pain, the doctor refused to perform an ultrasound. She remarked that I didn't "look like a sick woman" and stated that I would need to submit a formal request to verify whether I was truly in pain. They took samples for lab tests; however, I was unfortunately displeased with the way the medical instruments were left lying exposed in the examination room for several hours, where they were susceptible to bacterial contamination. I was experiencing severe abdominal pain and had no idea what was wrong with me; I had suffered a miscarriage just a few months prior—a fact I specifically mentioned to the doctor. Regrettably, they did not perform an ultrasound and instead sent me home to wait for approval to schedule one—despite the fact that, immediately following my miscarriage, I had been specifically referred to this very clinic. Two weeks later, the approval for the ultrasound finally came through, yet the pain persisted; I then had to wait another two weeks just to get an appointment slot. Once the ultrasound was finally performed, I was told that I wouldn't receive the results for another three days! To my dismay, the clinic then called to inform me that I would have to wait nearly a month just to get back in to see a doctor! When I finally returned for my appointment, I was seen by a different physician—a male doctor named Alborz Borjian. He was a true professional; he helped me and thoroughly explained the underlying cause of my health issues. It turned out that, following my miscarriage, I had suffered a ruptured cyst; the fluid had filled my abdominal cavity and was exerting pressure on my internal organs. This was precisely what I had tried to explain to Dr. Penton, but she had refused to believe me—leaving me with serious doubts regarding her professional competence. I am simply appalled by this entire situation. Furthermore, when they were collecting samples for testing, a nurse assured me that everything was fully covered by my Medi-Cal insurance and that the tests would be free of charge. However, after the samples had already been collected, she returned with a document requiring my signature to acknowledge that the tests might actually incur a fee; she informed me—in a very rude and abrasive manner—that if I refused to sign the document, she would not send the samples to the lab for analysis.
