Medical Office: Adventist Health

I’m very disappointed in the gastrointestinal specialty area. I had a colonoscopy and had to do my own research to find out I had an infection and ask for antibiotics. I just met on the phone with the doctor a year later and yet to hear examines in his office. My problem is ongoing and I’m trying my best to find a better gastroenterologist.

Dr Sharma is great dr. So happy I choose Adventist Health for all my needs. The lab takes a little longer than most but its OK. Still tolerable.

Very kind and compassionate staff, everyone has their bad days but these people try their hardest every day. I am an advocate for people like Dr. Sharma, who cordially and effectively asks thorough background questions kindly, and discusses treatment clearly and courteously. Highly recommended location, I live in Fresno and still drive to adventist health in fowler!💜

Horrible. I have had my appointment rescheduled several times after months of being booked. Can’t do anything about it. Just have to take it. They are understaffed and the staff they do have clearly are robots. They do not care and are simply there doing a job. Waited an hour to be seen last time I was there and the doctor saw me for 2 min and decided he needed a second opinion about the surgery I clearly need to get out of pain and function normally. Gave one star because I have to.

This year as compared to past years, 2020 to 2025, I am experiencing a decline in specialty doctor availability, resulting in long wait times (months), for appointments. I have even been told at one time that it was not possible to give me an appointment date to see a specialist. Besides having to wait longer times for appointments I have had to travel out of town, to Hanford, Tulare, and even Fowler to see a doctor. (Visalia is my hometown). Additionally the front offices do not seem to have the information that would enable me to at least see a doctor closer to home. For instance, I when I had to book an appointment in Fowler I found out later that my doctor also saw patients in Tulare. But in order to change locations my appointment would have to be pushed out several additional months. Incidentally my wife is experiencing the same issues I mentioned and has also received incorrect instructions for lab specimen collection resulting in the need to repeat the specimen collection a second time.
