Sumo Asian Buffet And Grill

Sumo Asian Buffet is honestly such a vibe if you’re just looking for a massive spread without overthinking it. It’s located in Woodland Hills, so it’s a super convenient stop if you’re cruising through that part of California and need to fuel up. The variety is exactly what you’d expect from a solid buffet—lots of shrimp, meat, and veggie options that hit the spot when you're hungry. It’s pretty straightforward, reliable, and definitely gets the job done for a casual, no-fuss meal.

For the price, this buffet offers an impressive variety of delicious food. Whether you're in the mood for seafood, sushi, BBQ, or Asian favorites, there's something for everyone. I usually end up coming here whenever I can't decide what I want to eat because it has so many options all in one place. The food is consistently fresh, the selection is great, and I always leave full and satisfied.

We found Sumo to be a solid choice for an Asian Buffet. They have a large selection of seafood and sushi as well as the usual asian food items, a cook to order grill, plus a selection of ice creams and desserts (liked the ice cream but not the other desserts). The day we went they didn't have snow crab for dinner but a smaller whole crab which was tasty. The quality of the food is not the best I've had at a buffet but reasonable for the price. They do have discounts for seniors and kids. We had decent service when we went and had no problem getting drinks refilled.

This place is terrible! The smell when you get inside is bad. Dirty carpet smell and the food quality has gone downhill. The restroom is very nasty and the utensils are not washed very well. Dirty plates, and poorly maintained restrooms. Avoid this place.

***AVOID*** The food quality at Sumo Asian Buffet was extremely concerning. The noodles looked old and dried out, with a strange texture and discoloration that didn’t look safe to eat. On top of that, some of the seafood appeared questionable and not fresh. The overall presentation made it seem like food had been sitting out far too long. For a buffet, I understand food cycles, but this crossed the line from "not fresh" to "potentially unsafe." Cleanliness and food handling are basic expectations, and this place did not meet them. After seeing the condition of the food, I honestly lost my appetite and couldn’t continue eating. I would not recommend this restaurant, and I hope management takes a serious look at their food safety and quality standards.
