I have not been to this place since long time ago. Parking structure is located in the back of the restaurant. Servers were very friendly and service was fast! We were seated promptly. The quality of dim sum surprised me. The siu mai was giant! The egg roll was fresh and crispy. The stir fried vegetable was not over-cooked. The Portuguese egg tarts were freshly baked, and they were tasty! We also tried the baby lobster and abalone, which were amazingly fresh! Will be back again!
My new favorite local restaurant. It has all my favorite dishes with a wide variety menu. Where can you get hot, cook-to-order, all-day dim sum! There’s TVs, alcohol available, and small banquet rooms for special occasions. Service is polite and quick. Reservations can be made with Open Table. There’s kiosks to order for To Go and to check in your reservation. A free parking lot is located across the street. We came to eat delicious dim sum while watching some FIFA. 🙂
Delicious dim sum served in a comfortable, large dining room. We were a party of 5 and arrived at 11am on Sunday morning. It was crowded but we only had to wait 5 minutes for our table. The quality of the dim sum was good. Popular items like har gao and shiumai were larger than we are accustomed to from Hong Kong and New York Chinatown. Yet they were tasty. The service was a bit slow as waiters seemed over stretched with the full house. They were nevertheless friendly and courteous.
Enjoyed the portions for the dim sum as they were quite large (jumbo sized) and the meats were juicy, especially enjoyed the siu mai. The egg tofu with abolone sauce and shrimp and scallop were also my favorites. I would also recommend getting their entrees, which are also delicious. The string beans were also a great texture and still crunchy while being well seasoned. We also tried the pork garlic spare rib and had a great crisp outside with flavorful chewy meat on the inside. Went for dinner on a Saturday night and didn't even have to wait for a table!
I recently tried Lunasia Dim Sum House for the first time. I was curious to visit because I noticed that the restaurant has been selected by the Michelin Guide for two different years, and it has also been featured in newspapers as one of the places known for its dim sum. When I looked at the menu, the prices were a bit on the higher side, so I was expecting something really standout or memorable. The food overall was good. The pork siomai tasted good and well-made, but for me it was nothing particularly special that would make me specifically come back just for that dish. The chicken feet were very soft, flavorful, and nicely prepared. The seaweed salad was also good, and the roasted duck had a pleasant flavor. Everything we tried was good and enjoyable, but personally I was looking for that one dish that would really stand out and make me say, "Let’s go back to Lunasia because it’s amazing." I didn’t quite find that moment, although the food quality was solid overall. That said, if you are in Alhambra, this is still a nice place to try, especially if you want to experience a restaurant that has been recognized by the Michelin Guide and is known locally for dim sum. Overall: good food, good experience — just not something that felt particularly unique for the price and The service was decent, but it would be nice if the staff were a bit more friendly and attentive to customers’ needs. There is still some room for improvement.
