We were so excited for the re-open because we LOVED Blue House. Our friends would come at least once a month, it was our spot to go. We were even bummed when the re-open was postponed. Finally we get to go again, the food is still great but the service was terrible. It took an hour to get seated despite several empty tables. The first place we sat down had a dirty table, menu was dripping with liquid. They reseated us elsewhere at least but still had the dirty menus. The next section we sat in only had maybe 2-3 other parties in it (as I said, a lot of empty tables, despite a waiting area of about 20 guests). We would get our round of food, cook and eat it all, and then wait about 5-10 minutes before someone came to check on us for our next order to be put in. The whole ordeal took 3 hours (arrived at 6, left at 9pm) and we only ate 3 rounds. At that point we were tired and frustrated, and left without full belly. I'm hoping this was just a staffing issue, since I imagine they probably lost staff with the long break before re-opening... I wish they had just conducted more hiring while waiting if that was the case. Not sure if this will be our usual spot anymore.
Everything about this Hot Pot experience is wonderful. If you're going, go with someone who has been before. Or at least if you're new to the Hot Pot style cooking. Not only are you served by a lovely robot (servers are too, of course 😉 ), but the cuts of meat you get and the pricing per person is not bad at all given what you get. Atmosphere inside is lovely. Security is patrolling outside usually. Service is quick and accurate, from my experience. Lovely seating. And if you know how to cook, you're solid. Definitely gotta go again for 38 bucks. (A little spendy but oh so worth it)
Super disappointed in this restaurant. It was the most expensive Korean bbq I've ever had, $36 to $109 a person and the selection was limited. The meat was ok but there are better and cheaper in the same area. My biggest issue is the literal trashy atmosphere. We dined with bussing carts right next to our table, at one point there were three! The plates are tiny, the furniture is extremely worn, the bathrooms are gross, and they have numerous signs telling you not to leave valuables in sight in your car. This makes the restaurant look bad and any reasonable person knows not to do this. Our server was a nice and accommodating, but the whole experience was poor and over priced. Here are pics of the trash next to our table and the tiny plates.
The meat was super fresh, tender, and flavorful, and the LA galbi was melt-in-your-mouth good. Honestly, it might even beat what you’d find in Korea! If you’re in Sacramento, this place is an absolute must-try. The staff are super friendly, and the restaurant is spacious and welcoming.
This is our fourth visit to this location. My husband and I always go to the Roseville location, but now that we moved to the Anatolia area, this one is closer, and brother in law visited us for the holiday and I didn’t feel like trying a different Korean BBQ place. (And he likes this place aslo) The server was super polite and friendly, I didn’t catch his name, but the guy with blonde hair was great! and the food was great. The prime short rib and black tiger shrimp are always fresh and delicious. Jumulluk was good, and I can’t forget the beef belly 😂. I didn’t take many photos because the lighting was a bit off, and we were super hungry - hadn't eaten for almost 32 hours. We ate food like food fighters 😂😂
